Are there cliques on here? I think that's what people think when they have an opinion that a lot of people don't agree with. I personally know about 3 people from here outside this forum, and 2 of them barely post.

I’m one of those that travels too, but I don’t begrudge anyone else an opinion. All the games are now televised, and someone might get a better view watching at home than me at the match, plus they have the advantage of replays and commentary.

I do feel there are some people that I tend to agree with more than others on here, but that would suggest that there is more than 1 ‘clique’, which begs the question of what was posted to upset one without getting support from the other.

Sometimes some of the conversations get too personal in terms of abuse. I keep out of those threads.

There seems to be a common ground on here of many regular posters. I see them posting about BFC, music, politics a bit & the rest. That for me is what makes the forum interesting.

You get posters who want to wind folks up & others that just want to post things that are at least neo racist / tabloid crap, that I think most of don't agree with. No reason why they shouldn't be disagreed with. A reasoned arguement, is a different thing.

Happy clappers? This place had loads of people wanting the manager sacked last season when we were still in the mix for automatic promotion.

It might be a lot of things but it’s certainly not full of happy clappers

Im just putting out there what I hear from other fans and the lads I go to games with. I can see their point but equally I wouldn’t really let that stop me from posting. The one thing I notice, is that the feeling on this board very rarely mirrors what the people on the stand feel. Maybe that’s why a lot of people don’t like it on here?

Nah, people in the stands are like posters on here. Going to an away match is a lottery when it comes to who you’re sat near.

Agree with you here, but for a very different reason.

You can see from threads like 'What was your first job and your current', that there is generally a higher level of intelligence and achievement amongst posters here than your standard on the terraces. So opinions are often more nuanced than what Lee and Darren, whose whole life is the club as they have nothing else going on, are saying on the terraces.

It's what I believe people mean when they say this board is 'cliquey'. It means there are people with intelligence on this board who will challenge ill thought out posts and certain people aren't used to this in their day to day lives so assume there is a clique out to get them. They just aren't used to having opinions questions in an articulate way.

Ok, let me give you some examples, starting with my own experience of an idiot who wouldn’t sit down, was eventually moved by stewards and then proceeded to goad his fellow fans, for the remainder of the half.

The blokes at Derby who had sat in our seats and wouldn’t move and became aggressive, got kicked out later in the game, never to be seen again. They had nicked the seat of a visually impaired person on that occasion.

Stevenage away, as mentioned on here. The two blokes moaning in stereo for the entirety of the game, and it seemed no player was immune.

Granty - been discussed on here. Some like him, others think he’s a pain in the arsenal.

I think that’s true. It’s not a ‘hit and run’ sort of environment like Facebook or X.

But all you’ve done there is single out some negative experiences from a percentage of fans which equates to less than 1% of the supporters.

In equal measure, I could name numerous posters on here what could back other supporters feelings up. I won’t, because it’s not my argument and I don’t have a dog in this particular fight. All I’ve done is reiterate the point that alot of our fans view this board negatively.

I’ve just given you a few examples. Doesn’t matter what percentage it is, it’s still diminished the matchday experience for many sat round them at those games and some on here have actually said they won’t go to away games anymore. I still stick by my opinion that not all fans are on the same page in the stands or on here. Sometimes someone could have been watching a different game in both environments.

It would be good if you named some posters or gave some examples, because at the moment it’s just “my mates sez”.

I’d like to know what we’re agreeing or disagreeing about, because it’s not clear at the moment. Are people getting jumped on for posting negative stuff or being too positive?

Also, many of those ‘in the stands’ post on here as well, so how can they be one or the other?
