We have a lad on our books who is on loan with us who is on £25k a week, don’t believe for a minute we are paying anywhere near that though.
And speculate what isn’t yours. Thrusting yourself in to debt with the very same people you don’t trust.
Regardless of any criticisms we have of the owners' failures to date, there are two things that are absolutely crucial while they remain in charge: 1) they are never allowed to take ownership of Oakwell. This is in the hands of BMBC and the Cryne family, but it seems clear that any intentions they have for ownership are unlikely to be in the best interests of BFC. 2) they never invest any of their own funds in BFC in the form of loans or other debt finance. We've seen the consequences of this with the Nice situation, and there is zero chance that the terms would be favourable. 4 years ago, as incoming owners, I'd have been willing for both to have occurred. They had an option in their favour in terms of #1, which they've now allowed to lapse, which may well be the best decision they made in terms of the club's long-term future. Any trust that I had in them that either event would now be beneficial to the football club has been irrevocably destroyed. I'd prefer BFC going into administration to either of the above 2 events taking place.
Still sat on the fence before we come to that conclusion that we dont trust them arent we? Im waiting for conways interview in February to decide i know which way im swaying though.
I’m speaking in terms of some people who’s biggest gripe seems to be around a cash injection. it’s not sensible to claim these owners ‘run it like a business’, ‘won’t spend any of their own money’, and ‘don’t care’, only to also say they need to invest in the club, Because that would be a loan, not a gift, and as @Sheriff but far better than I did, that’s the last thing we want. Even if you’re still on the fence about forcing the owners out.
I just think its there mistakes that were in this position ***** summer window poor appointments and they just seem to be doing nothing and letting us drop but like you say rather them not loan us anything.
I'd rather con way hand back whatever obscene wages he paid himself for fecking the club up this summer
Someone made a great post in the conway put group comparing the current owners to the time before them mot sure how to get it on here but it was spot on.
Not sure what you’ve done but you attached photos of the post at first and now they’ve gone away? Very valid and heartfelt post though. I guess I’d point to Covid as disrupting monies received - I don’t believe the interest in our players this Summer was down to anything other than nobody willing to spend decent money. I also don’t mind some of the Academy players being in Denmark. Why not? Great experience for a teenager and as useful as being on loan at someone in the Conference.
Did Khaled say that Winfield and Wolfe have come back now, but are injured? (Slight tangent, but didn't seem to warrant it's own thread!)
I'm pretty sure Winfield came back but don't remember anything about Wolfe? One player returned early. I wan't even sure if that was just down to being injured.
"Diligent efforts on the field" "We have at times seen that they are talented players"... Don't go overboard with praise will you?! If they're fit, they should play
A very sensible, well-reasoned post. As I have remarked before, our weakness in midfield all season shows just what a tremendous player Mowatt was for us. The majority of us realised that while we still had him, but a not insignificant minority failed to appreciate his real worth.
