    I think you might be right.

    I'm all in favour of Pet insurance, however ........ I just haven't got it. Doesn't make me an "irresponsible" pet owner IMHO. I have 4 pets I treat with all the love and respect you'd expect of a responsible, caring owner. Hence shelling out tons this week when the easy option would have been "ah, just put him down doc - he's been good company but **** it, £200 notes - your'e having a larf"

    Insurance is merely transference of risk

    So he has chosen to carry the burden of risk himself, as I did with my cat, so pay the bills ourselves.

    not getting at you m8, my German Shepherd costs me £5.50 a month Tesco pet insurance, worth every penny. I took her to the vets the other week with a cough, cost £70, when I got home and looked at the medicine could have got it from the chemist for less than a fiver :'(

    Well, we gave him an extra month.

    Just got back from the vets again, but this time without him. Stayed with him whilst he was put to sleep ...........</p>

    but the extra month of tender loving care will have meant a lot to all of you.
