That's the one. same season as the smash & grab job at Leeds. When we had a team that showed character away from home.

 

Some memorable away game for me during those years as a kid.

Stoke away cup 3-3, 8500 reds. Various Hull games away (remember John Deehan scoring either and equaliser or winner aged about 45, think we had registered him as a player when we had injuries), Hudds away, old Leeds Rd 2-2, Bradford City away 1-1 Gwynn Thomas scoring a volley, my first ever away game and i ripped my arse on the barbed wire on the away end fence after he had scored, loads of bog rolls on the pitch too that day!

He went to watch Barnsley v Marine or Workington in 1973 and uses that as his justification for being a true fan

Apparently he was at the cup semi

Went to all of those games. Didnt Ian Banks play for Huddersfield and score in the 2-2? We had been 2-0 up.

there were 3 games wasnt, 2 at oakwell we lost the third, Deane and agana scored in the 2-2 im sure

 

Mark Smith & Steve Cooper scored our goals in the 2-2 draw

Lee Glover never scored for us.

right just memory going, i know i went to all the games, mark smith was ace and steve cooper, god rest his soul was superb at jumping

 

There were some great games in the second half of that season
