Obviously you know that Manchester United have to agree to the ticket price

They might have felt £20 was too cheap

Yup, that could well have happened

I don't know what discussions took place. Maybe Barnsley wanted to stick to the usual price and Man Utd said that wasn't enough. Of course, it could work the other way, Barnsley may have wanted to charge us £30 but Man Utd said that was too much.

Personally i won't be going unfortunatly i can't afford to go every week at the prices we charge normally so definately i won't be shelling out more money for this game tbh i will be content to watch the match on sky and try and get to another game that isn't on sky

    Cheers mate

....will give it a miss though lol

Ain't it funny how popular you become when you draw a big club in the cup & all of a sudden you're surrounded by more plastics than at a fetish party (I would imagine anyway :D )

Most of them down this way have never been remotely close to their "home" grounds ffs but have the full kit, desk-tidy, toothbrush & ruler (no offence Monkey) from "their" megastore

    In the general context

That BFC's ST's and matchday ticket prices are as I understand amongst the lowest at this level and given that BFC seems to rely too much on one person to fund it, I think that a little profit generation where possible is more than acceptable.

To call those at the club 'robbing b.stards' shows a lack of understanding of gargantuan proprtions.

    They're certainly not 'robbing Barstewards'

The price reduction for season tickets this season and the excellent prices for juveniles shows that. In general I think our pricing policy is very good. I just think it would be a good gesture to charge the same for these high profile matches as we do for the dross. A lot of us have spent a good deal of money on BFC this decade, thousands in fact, but Ritchie's promotion season and two games against Liverpool and Chelsea aside we've paid for some right ******* rubbish. Be nice for the club to understand that and allow us in to what could be a very exciting game without charging extra.

Of course, as has been pointed out, both clubs have to agree on prices.

Are BFC's ST's the cheapest in the league?

Compared with others? I'd imagine so, so i won't grumble at paying £25. Didn't we pay £30 for the Chelsea game too? Might be wrong but i thought it was close to that figure.

I am against 'categorising' matches generally

But the club reduced prices for the Burnley match so fair's fair in this instance.

The club are often asked/berated on here about special offers etc, yet when the club try to make some back there's hell on. As I say, in general terms I'd charge the same price for all games, end of, but there are obviously external factors with regards to the Man Utd game.

If you think £25 is too expensive

then watch it on SKY instead....SIMPLES...

notably the ones complaining aboout the prices being too high for the Manu U reserves game are the ones who complained about reduced incentives for non ST holders such as footy for a fiver etc.......!!!

I am sure i said i would be watching it on sky, it doesn't matter if i think that £25 is too expensive or not if i can't afford to go every week when it is £20 i am not going to make a special effort to go to this game when it is accessable for the price of a couple of pints reguardless of who we are playing

    Not you...

I was referring to Dreamboat who a month ago argued against the idea of reduced match prices for Swansea City and is now wanting reduced prices for Man Utd....!!!

Man Utd will have been the robbing Barstewards. I'd imagine we wanted prices cheaper and they wouldn't let us because they want to milk the competition like 41 quid for Wolves fans in the last round. The problem is if fans can only afford to go to one match coming up they are likely to pick the cup match instead of a more important league game.

RE: If you think £25 is too expensive

Ok sorry i thought you were having a go at me. If i am being honest i think the prices for all rounds of both cups apart from the final should be at whatever the home side normally charge but i understand that both teams have to agree the price and when there is such a difference in the basic prices at the two clubs it is always going to be somewhere in the middle like it was for chelsea so i guess £25 isn't that bad but like i have said it is simply too much for me at the minute, unfortunatly i only make maybe 1 in 5 home games simply as i can't afford it, and thb there are more important things in life such as paying bills, so i am all for reduced prices for various games because it makes more games accessable to me

We have been drawn against Man Utd. Not Man Utd Reserves. Its entirely upto them what team they play. Bfc are selling tickets for Us Vs Man Utd. End of story. Well done BFC (clap) Personally id have gone £30 :D

    ***Dreamboy, please explain**

How £25 at home to the Premier League Champions and the biggest football club in the world is in the "Robbing Barsteward" category, and £30 away at QPR is just "a few measly quid extra"

Cos I know which game I'd see as better value, and I'd be telling my mates about it over a £5 bottle of wine using the savings.
