Love him or loathe him, Master Bates has his commercial head screwed on. He moved the away fans to the expensive seats at the side of ground so that he could charge £36 - the same price as Leeds potd fans would pay. The FA decreed that you could charge an equivalent price to the home fans so he moved them to the expensive seats.
To do the same we would have to have a £36 ticket somehwere in the ground (which we haven't) Maybe the answer is to put a £36 price tag for the West Stand North - not many home fans go in there. Then we could give that to away fans and charge them £36. For the likes of Leeds with larger support than the capacity, we could then allocate them the West stand upper at £36 and give them half the North Stand to make up the numbers.

But we'd have to charge folk in East Upper/other side of West Stand £36 too.

Oh and the whole point of the membership scheme was so we could charge away fans more than home. But Don's a pillock, apparently.

You can't go to away games at Leeds if your not a season ticket holder or member. So every Leeds fan pays £25

It didn't work though did it. FA said it was against their rules. But Don carried on with it anyway, so in lots of cases home fans were charged more than away fans.

It's genius. There should be a book written about. Well, maybe a pamphlet.

I don't see why any home fan should pay £28 unless it's the first game of the season they've attended. The Membership Card is £3 so immediately pays for itself with the discounted ticket, and then can be used again. If someone doesn't get a Membership Card and then repeatedly moans about paying £28 it's their own fault.

Can't we make it so that our season tickets holders can't purchase discounted tickets unless they have a membership card as well? Then away fans would also have to buy a membership card to get tickets at £25 which of course would be pointless.

Some people get fleeced every day. The Leeds fans are paying £46 we are charged £36 at their ground, and been the business that we are we charge them £25. Come on wise up, they would have paid £36 and definitely£30, and still filled us out. We are paying £28 for home fans for tickets. Just about sums this clueless BFC board up. Roll on the new communication with the barnsley fans. Absolutely unbelievable.get tickets for their end and make a ******** of it altogether. The Boards ability in ticketing or anything else is Fukcing inept

As I recall you weren't forced to pay it and FL rules state that away fans can't be charged more than a home fan gets charged for the identical seat.

excuse me monkey red. You become a member, how do you get your ticket for £25. If you are working you ring up and book it to come through post, yes. You do it on line, yes. If you wanty it on Saturday if your not working you have to be there 12.00 The first two options cost you £3 debit scharge hence back to £28 Question ? Whats the point of being in the Membership scheme.

Don is obviously a pillock because the vast majority of away fans at Oakwell have paid £25 entry whilst home fans have paid £28. He knew this from the very start when the football league told him his half cocked idea of ripping off away fans whilst rewarding barnsley fans with unlimited mileage and no lifes who were available to make 4,000 extra trips to Oakwell to buy tickets was against FL rules and so the away fans had to be given the lower membership prize. Still went ahead with it didn't he though. Brainless

Leeds only sell away tickets to pass holders and memebrs - they don't do general sale so we can't sell them any tickets for £28, £25 only. They still have 700 left for the north stand so doesn't look like they will even fill the north!

Which proves the current pricing system at Oakwell to be an absolute crock of **** and the biggest **** up in Don Rowings tenure. Time he went, or if its PC making the decisions it's time he sold to the first bidder. #ClubIsDying

Whatever the tickets are priced at, you're still going to have to pay that surcharge. And I believe the rule is 90 minutes before kick-off which is 1:30. Not an unreasonable time if you're going to the game anyway is it? The point of it is, you're paying £3 more than you need to if you're going to attend more than one home game a season if you ignore the scheme.

Half one is VERY early for people to be at the ground for. I bet there's less than 100 people in the stands at that time.

The point is that the club have made pricing unnecessarily complicated, over priced and have penalised OUR fans and given a discount to the away fans. Disgusting. #ClubIsDying

I was wrong, it's 12 for the Leeds game with it being all-ticket but normally 1:30 I think. I agree it's overcomplicated and has backfired but you can still get a ticket for the same price as away fans.

You can but you have to jump through hoops to get it while they don't. They just buy a ticket through the normal away ticket process and automatically get a discount.

The other major issue I have with it is that the headline price is £28 and unless you are already a big Barnsley fan you will not know that you can get in for £25 because they don't tell you. Even in the ads they have in the programme and online the price advertised is £28.

At Leeds, they have a booking fee for away tickets - Leeds fans call it 'Bates Tax'

So it looks like there fans will be paying £28 anyway as will our fans unless they can actually get to the Box Office before 1.30pm on Saturday otherwise it's £25 + booking fee online /over the phone.

Why do they not charge £25 full stop and not make it complicated

Correct. Monkey red is talking about getting a ticket for every game. The point is if you want to get there from work or say 30 min before game you have to pay on gate, whether member or not £28. M y point is you should be able to pay on gate for £25 full stop. No fancy kidology schemes.
