    That wasnt really my original point but I'm afraid you're wrong. Touting is illegal if you sell football tickets in a public place or sell them in the course of business. Neither would apply here. In any event, he's not selling them is he.

    Isn't the point though that people offering to pay more than face value will lead to people exploiting that by buying up tickets to make a profit next time there's a limited supply?

    Fair enough if you can't go and have a spare, but sell it at face value

    How does the seller know who's buying, could be a convicted hooligan. Details of the seller on the database with the ticket number. Also selling over face value, like fecking seatwave in here lately.

    The same applies if you bought 2 online and gave one to your mate - he could be a convicted hooligan.

    He only wants to go to the match to watch his team, don't think it's fair to knock him! :)
