Can't agree with that. At home maybe half a dozen teams would fall into the we have a good chance of winning category. Beyond that every point is a a good one. We have one of the poorer squads in the division and a terrible home record. This obviously needs to improve but can't say we "should be beating most sides" the sad truth is most sides are better than us.
I don't look on our twitter page often but I've just had a look after this thread and shouted my young un over who's never been to a BFC game. They're brilliant, different and from a marketing perspective they work. The young uns sat scrolling through looking for the dog now. Some might not like the underdog message but the videos are certainly a refreshing change from the boring posters. The Moore video was a lot better than him just holding a shirt up for a picture. New regime, new ideas. What about the social media announcement when everyone got their knickers in a twist thinking it was a takeover announcement. How much coverage did that get? Worked didn't it.
Well it's done a job, you are all talking about it if you like it or not!!!! Also, Toby should be used much much more in things like this, it gives the kids something to love at the club. Toby used to be really naughty at games in the 90s, it was really funny watching him as a kid!
Marketing is such a weird field, have you heard the We By Any Car radio advert that they compare themselves to Philip Schofield? I don’t even know how to explain it it’s the worst radio ad I’ve ever heard and makes no sense.
What was the Moore walking down the train platform thing about? I mean stuff like that isn’t too bad if there’s any production value to it - lighting, music, proper camera and some post production to make it look like some effort went into it. It really does make us look tinpot but with slightly more effort and the right presets on Adobe Premiere it would look good.
I cannot believe people getting their knickers in a twist about a bit of marketing , ask yourselves , Does it really matter ?
Maybe marketing/media have had direct instruction to create a bit of hype as phase one of introducing the 'match day experience'. Just remember, we now have some American influence on board and they love a bit of this. You need to get behind it folks. Any silence from the club causes mass hysteria so it seems unfair to jump up and down on a snippet released by them in an attempt to create a bit of interest in a big match. We're clear underdogs, that's a big motivation.
...well, it's got my 4 year old wanting to watch the video over and over again, learn more about t'old Toby(she's jealous that I was at his first match after he was "Born") and watch videos of "Toby's team scoring goals" now. So they have worked on her.... Just need to bring Tina back now. That bitch had a body to die for!
Terrible? Really? Our younger fans love them. (I quite liked the videos - maybe says something about me? ) I didn't quite understand the rematch stuff but I assumed i'd missed something. Personally think it's great seeing the media team doing stuff like this.
Toby v Wolfie always had a bit of an edge to it, as both were very "naughty" at times. I remember Wolfie fighting one of Bristol City's 3 little pigs for real once and Toby was always taunting the away fans.
It’s terrible in my opinion. Not the videos, apart from the Kieffer Moore at the station one. But the ‘Reason of the season’ thing is just so poorly thought out and makes us look very tin pot.
Did something happen with Toby and Wolfie in the away game? Wondered if it was alluding to something like that?
I don’t think so but I didn’t go. It’s a play on the Rocky 2 film. I just don’t really get the whole rematch thing.
Is it something to do with Toby Tyke and the Wolves mascot having that serious set to at the football mascots sports day years back?
People love a good moan don't they? They moan that the club is outdated and behind the times and then complain when there's something on social media promoting a game. Can't win.
