Re: I bought stuff http://news.uk.msn.com/blog/trending-blogpost.aspx?post=2a293ab2-10d0-4029-8961-5216b0a75d28 Some young ones didn't look as if they had much of a choice though.........not China or North Korea but first rung of the ladder
Re: I bought stuff I would love to see un-employed people, mainly those who have been scrounging and no intention of getting employment, being made to do work for 'free'.
It's a shame that the small businesses won't be benefiting from the olympics to the same extent. The big corporations have that all sewn up.
Re: I bought stuff Here we go. Why not add all these folks claiming incapacity benefit and all assylum seekers whilst you're at it, saves starting a new thread for each of them.
Re: I bought stuff Dole-ites should be made to do 'free' work in return for their benefits, keeps them in a working frame of mind instead of lounging around either playing x-box or drinking can after can of special brew.
Re: I bought stuff And when do they find time to look for a job of their choosing, write the application form, research about the company, prepare for the interview and attend the interview? It sounds like a great idea to get 'dole-ites' working to earn their benefits, but let's not allow the practicalities of what impact that would have on helping people find jobs they want to do and can do, get in the way of any pre-conceived Daily Mail influenced opinions on all people claiming unemployment benefit.
Re: I bought stuff If you read my 1st post then you will see that i wouldnt include all those on the dole, but you can tell those wanting employment and those who have no intention of ever finding employment. Give me one month running the country and it would improve greatly for a few week until the riot
Re: still a bit hungover from the Street Party..corrected it now matey For 1 extra day's holiday? OK if you say so but that goes alongside the guy who suggested we should scrap all bank holidays because of the cost to the economy. Which doesn't take into account the money generated by people spending because they are off. For example, we went to the Lake District on Saturday, 3 nights in a b&b, every b&b we saw had a "no vacancies" sign up, the pubs and restaurants were packed. Another view of this from my wife's American friends and family, commenting to her via facebook about how they'd seen footage on TV and how wonderful it looked. What a great piece of PR for the tourist industry, that's was just a small number of people but the comments about how they'd like to visit etc, it's impossible to quantify how much that could be worth for foreign tourism. And I thought it was great to see the Union flags flying all over the place without Nick Griffin attached to them! The wife commented about how it reminded her of 4th of July back in the States....she loved it. It was good old fashion pride of the country, not overtly patriotic or jingoistic but had a great feel to it. I'm not a Monarchist by any stretch of the imagination but as a Head of State I much prefer the idea of an apolitical figurehead. Oh and the Keswick Brewery Jubilee beer was top quality - had a few pints of that!
when your in an office with only 3 other folk theres no one to tell you off!! plus i dont smoke so i spend my '*** break' on the internet.
that is insignificant compared to what the Olympics has cost so fand will carry on TWENTY BILLION and growing...... for a glorified egg and chuffin spoon race.
Re: still a bit hungover from the Street Party..corrected it now matey So less than £1 a head! Bargain....when did you last manage to put on a party for less than a quid a head?
