    Fair point, but why has our society and governments allowed this section of society to increase over the last 20 years, because I can't remember it being as bad as this in the 70's and 80's when I was a kid/teenager?

    Isa's are legally and on purpose tax free set by gov't. They are not loopholes scrutinised by the financial sector to interpret as they see fit. Big difference

    They have operated within the law. The law needs changing to address that.

    You can hardly blame them it's the treasury that needs to smarten up.

    Because if you didn't but your money in one then you could potentially pay tax on any interest accrued

    Hence you have avoided tax

    Whilst i agree with welfare cuts and stopping tax avoidance.

    My pet hate is the £12,000.000.000
    Yes that's £12 billion this year that we will be handing out in foreign aide.
    That's around £200 per PERSON in the UK!

    Of which we will be sending money to...
    China, Japan, Brazil - 3 of the richest in the world!
    EVERY country in Africa.

    Any money that goes into Isa's is invested by the bank and tax is paid on that.therefore money in the treaury That is why they were introduced, unlike the loopholes employed by firms which the money goes into shareholders/executives pockets
