The font appears to be from the 83/84 shirt. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you could choose whether you had the sponsor on your shirt or not back then. I wonder if someone took an 81 shirt in, and asked for it to be printed up.

I've got an 86 home shirt which my dad gave me, which doesn't have the sponsor on it.

I’ve never forgotten that painful statistic. We had a far better GD than Wednesday so a simple reversal of that result against Norwich would have seen us promoted instead of them. So close!!

The 82-84 shirt. (seems it was a 2yr one) Had a white stripe around the collar.
The 81/82 just red as in the advert. Have to agree about the Haseldene difference. A slant on the advert but not on the team photo. Or as shown on the link.

Looks a bit iffy - e.g. sponsor lettering.

What isn’t iffy is that team. Best I’ve seen in 56 years of following the Reds. And that includes the Premier League season. We were so privileged to have watched them.

Only an opinion so no grief please.

A proper privilege. A case of everything coming together in perfect harmony with the outstanding Ronnie Glavin running every team ragged.

It brings back such good memories does that season '81, my first full season as a fan.
Coming after the promotion season of course, and back in what is now the Championship.
I think we would have had a great chance of successive promotions actually, IF the Play offs were around back then.
