I don't particularly rate him either but he's no worse than pearson and the one key difference is that he is our player not somebody we have borrowed. We might as well try developing our own players rather than continuously developing everyone else's for them
Being the contrary, old bugger I am, the greater the criticism levelled at Hourihane & Bailey, the more I rate these lads!
We disagreed about Dawson last season and we're going to have to disagree about Bailey this year. I rate him and I think he's been unlucky not to have got more games. I think he'll feature more from now on.
I think Pearson's decent but not been any better than Bailey. I can't help thinking that if he was on loan from Bolton & not Man Utd he wouldn't get half the hype & praise. Still think Bailey gets harshly treated on here because he played the holding role largely on his own & was often over ran when we were playing the diamond with Hourihane & Berry wide & Williams in front of him where as Pearson has nearly always played in a midfield 5 & as a result we've looked more solid yet when Johnson's changed to a 4 Pearson's faced the same problems Bailey did early in the season
Bailey is a tidy player in games where we've already got a good grip on things. Where we don't have that, he does nothing to get us a foothold in the game. Given that we play Hourihane we need someone in cm who will battle and scrap for those games where we aren't going to win nicely (which, let's be honest, are a lot of games at this level). Bailey just isn't that sort of player. He would do well with someone like that alongside him, but asking him to fulfil that role is asking for trouble. His form mirrors the form of the team. He can look good if we're playing well but if we aren't playing well he's ******* useless.
And that's you told! Personally, now that we're well and truly out of it I wouldn't be playing anyone who won't be here next season, whether that's a loanee or a Reds player. We have four games that are all going to be against competitive opposition, and it doesn't matter if we lose, so when better to blood the kids. Out of the loanees, I'd take Pearson, but that's very unlikely to happen, and I can take or leave the rest. Waring and Jabo are alright, but I wouldn't break the bank for them. Don't know much about the keeper. Ramage is injury prone and his best days are behind him, whilst Stewart and John are, erm, I don't want to say rubbish, bur I can't think of another word to describe them.
id rather see connor hourihanne playing for us rather than against us. need i say anymore ? (well yes actually, im just confused now )
I think a lot of that's fair, but now we have got someone of that nature to play along side him, we've got Scowen. A luxury Pearson has had throughout his time with us that Bailey never had.
He won't...the Moanmeister and his ilk decide they dislike a player (often before they've seen them play) and are not satisfied till they've jeered them out of the club. Reight fans.
Bailey is indeed bang average and anyone who thinks Pearson is not better needs to start watching another sport cos they know nowt. However I think Pearson should go back with every one of the other loanees....pointless playing em now....let the youngs have a go ready for next year's piss poor campaign which will no doubt culminate in Jase sacking LJ because they have another 'plan' up their sleeve. deja vu I suspect
