2016 team v 2019 team

First half of season this team would win. Second half of the season 2016 would win.

 

Agree with 188. The 2016 team bottled it aswell. We were within seven points of Burton that season and dropped out of the play-off positions only to scrape back in again. Those extra points the team dropped would have seen them pinch second. Plenty of similarities indeed. Momentum has been lost this season as well. I don't think this team is any better or worse.

 

As great as they were I don’t think Mawson and Roberts was a better pairing than Pinnock and Lindsay. We’ve certainly conceded less with those two.

 

This team has been more consistent over the course of the season. However in my opinion the 2016 team at its peak is easily a better team. I have no doubt in my mind that by the end of that season we were, by some stretch, the best team in the league, and if the season had continued for enough weeks we would not have ended up just ‘sneaking into the play offs’ we would have ended up champions - it just took us until half way through the season to gel and get going.
