    Does it show Wright’s save from Hristov? All highlights I’ve seen since have never shown it. Thought it was in all the way at the time for 3-3. Looked a wonder save but maybe my memory is playing up….

    The penalty miss at 1-1 was gut wrenching. This is a nice video if you can somehow forget they were playing against Barnsley in the final.

    I sold a spare ticket to a so called Barnsley fan at face value near Wembley , went in ground and a Spaniard had bought it for 4 times price . A good day out still apart from result

    Longest return home, (solo) from a match ever. My brother lived in Marlow at the time. Met a load of mates when I got back to Leeds. If Barnard's pen had gone in I'm convinced we would have won. As it was, it was a slide down to roughly where we are now.

    Feel all your hurt. 22 years ago I had no interest in Barnsley but had many cup final heart breaks following United. And the hurt never goes.

    Agreed - no blame attached to that decision.

    However - for playing Brown ahead of Scott Jones (or he could have even played Eaden with Curtis moved to the right hand side of the back three) I personally think Bassett should be brought back to Oakwell and be ritually drybummed behind the Ponty End every year on the anniversary of the game. Tit.
