We have sold our children's future down the river. Easy for some to vote when they have absolutely nothing to lose. In reality we have all lost today.
You have made a good couple if points. Fair opinions as well. You could argue however the older generation have more experience of how things have altered over the years. Good and bad. Many voting with the head and heart to what they believe would be the best result for family, kids and grand kids. I've had discusions with my dad. he didn't know which way to go. I still don't know what he ultimately did or even if he did vote. What I do know was he was genuinely torn on what to do. Anyway. I doubt anything will change much over the course of the next few weeks and months. A lot of fall out and debate. So we can only see how this lot in power will react at the moment
So me and another 17 million people didn't know why they voted Ok mate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I voted for us to remain, but I have no idea if that was the right decision. I have no idea if the result will have a positive or detrimental effect on our country. I'm fearful of what may happen, but that doesn't mean my fears will be realised. We'll have to see. All I know for certain is that a number of people who I think a lot about, who I have a lot of time for, including some on this forum, voted for us to leave. So I'm not going to start throwing insults about and getting all mardy, because I'm not falling out with anyone over this.
Appalling news. Gullible, selfish ****s like you have cost my children their future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very wise. I stayed awake last night as long as possible. Intention to see at least the first result come in. I failed. Fell asleep. When the first couple of experts came on and said they thought it was remain (even farage). I thought no point staying awake. I did wake up and see remain ahead. Then woke up and saw leave ahead. I didn't actually think leave when I woke up would edge it. But your right. It's no time to argue either way. Like you I have friends and family who voted on both sides. Country is divided nearly completely in half. Only one set of people to blame for that divide. So if anyone want to argue they should direct it at those in power for letting it get that way. Anyway. Season starts soon
I'm guessing it won't be as brilliant as the outers were expecting and it won't be as bad as inners are predicting...that's my total in depth political view of the whole situation
A poor and condescending view HR....this is democracy...parents and grandparents who voted out didn't do it for themselves , they did it for the the future generations..you may not think that...but I am sure the vast majority of older people want nothing but the best future for their kids.
Thank you Jay...the same view I made yesterday when it appeared the result had gone against my opinion. It's democracy...we get over it and all pull together from now on .
The same argument could be said of 1975....I was young and voted in...years later I realised I had made the wrong decision.
Agreed. Shocking when you look at the age split how the old have f**ked it for those with their lives ahead of them.
I also voted in back then; but what I thought I was voting for was a free trade area. If Id known that I was going to be dragged into an increasingly stifling and undemocratic political union I would have said no then. I wasnt going to make the same mistake twice. Then why did they not think about their kids who were overwhelmingly voting to stay? I haven't asked my parents what they voted but I'm got a bad feeling it would be leave. (My dad on a visit to my student flat in Leeds shouted loud enough for the whole street to hear 'who's that?' when a woman walked down the street wearing a nijab. He'd never seen anyone wearing one before so he instantly felt uncomfortable.). They certainly wouldn't be voting that way on my behalf.
How do you know?. I don't worry for the future of my kids any more than I did before this vote, of course it's uncertain times ahead, no one can predict the future (not even you). We now should all hope it's the best decision Britain has made and do all we can to make it work. I think most people that voted out were just fed up with the constant bullsh1t, all that changes now is the bull. Chin up fella.
