At a push you could say Deportivo Pereira in Colombia. Saw them a couple of years ago when staying with the sister in law in Pereira. At that point they'd never won anything since when they've won the league and competed in the Libertadores Cup (South American Champions League) where they drew away and won at home against Boca and got to the Quarter Finals. We'll be seeing a couple of their games in a few weeks, hopefully one against their main rivals Once Caldas in Manizales.
I like to watch the local non league teams when Tarn aren't at home. Brig (my ancestral home club), Penny Church, Rec, Wombwell, Emley. Also quite fond of Worksop.
My second teams ehh, ok here goes lol... Yorkshire cricket club, Hull Fc rugby league club, and Dallas American football club (Nfl).
Stockport County, cos I was born there, but I'm clear who are my number one, will still be Barnsley when we probably play them next season.
Always keep an eye out for a few teams, Arsenal as i loved the football from my younger years with Henry, Ljundberg, Pires, Bergkamp, Vieira etc.. so that has kinda stuck from then. Similar vein to Inter, the live Serie A games from my youth, watching with my dad, on channel 4 with the original Ronaldo who is possibly my favourite ever player has also meant I check for their results. Also, lived in wombwell all my life, but recently started watching Wombwell Town, enjoy the atmosphere/family feel on my visits so far and will hopefully be going again if the weekend if the game is on.
Hey, one of our regular drivers who comes from Newton Heath (Manchester), is a Stockport fan. Me and him often have a quick natter and giggle about Stockport and Barnsley, and our Play off prospects this season.
That's a disgraceful team Mr Lil. But yeah, to be honest I can't help but keep showing an interest in them as well, because of a certain Mr 'Ian'.
I have had the pleasure of Ian on many occasions during the past number of years and if they're good enough for him, that's good enough for me.
Morecambe, season ticket holder there, been supporting them since 1968 when I first saw them (live 15 miles away), Barnsley since 1965....whenever they play each other it's no contest though BFC all the way inc last season, I was in the away end at the Mazuma and got a fair bit of stick the next home game lol...Morecambe were always my little non league club, when we were in the Prem they had just got to the Conference......
Man City as my dad was a huge City fan but from when they were rubbish, not the juggernaut they are now. But only one team matters to me~them Reds!
Yeah Inter away kit this year is decent, couldn't possibly comment on the other lots kit, Just hoping Inter don't do the usual post Xmas break capitulation and throw the league away as a league title this time puts another star on the shirt for 20 league titles.
Yeah I'm the same mate lol. On a Satdy after looking at all the Efl footy results, I can't help but check up on Dundee McUre Fc as well.
My son likes Dundee United. He went to nipper school with a Scottish lad who supports them, he seems more interested in what they’re doing than he is Tarn at minute! Then again they are top of the league.
Correction S74. Wish we were top of the league but only second top behind Raith who IMO are the best side in our division. I’m only hoping Raith run out of steam and we sign a couple of players to bolster our challenge for top spot. Anyway your young lad has good taste. Well done to the young Arab.
If I had to choose one it would be Penistone Church I guess, as I used to go and watch them when I lived up there. I also used to go and watch Raith Rovers when I was married, as the ex-wife’s stepbrother lives in Kirkcaldy. Otherwise I just like the local non-league teams do well and have collected teams I look out for, over the years, cos of mates (e.g. Exeter, Scunny, Spurs). Also when me and Molly of this parish were doing the 92 we both fell in love with Accrington Stanley, so I want them to do well. And this season the other team I most want to do have a good season is Luton. Not only are half their team ex-Reds, I just think they have gone about their business in a really good way and it shows that you don’t need to cheat, or a moneybags owner to have success. After what their fans went through they deserve some good fortune. And I think the way other clubs, other fans and, most of all, the press have patronised them was unnecessary. I love visiting Luton’s ground and love their away end. I was hoping the Reds would get drawn against them in the cup, just so my son can experience walking up over the back yards!
