Woodrow didn't win may headers is that his fault or the bloke crossing it
there must have been 12 attempts from Brittain last night that didn't find a red shirt
    whose at fault ??
both 2 of our better players

You can't knock Woodrow's effort/graft.. but it's been inafective for a while.. He is our best forward but inafective., so we're in trouble I'd say. Even after three games the writing is on the wall..
I read threads about getting the Belgium lads fit. But their record is as bad as we've already got. So will they be the answer ?. I get Morris's record was also poor before he came here so we'll just have to wait an see. But we look miles Offa decent side at the minute.

There was no lack of effort. Woodrow was ineffective
    (a) because he was played out of position. He doesn't have the attributes to play in an attacking midfield slot. He's a finisher, not a creator. He was ineffective when Struber played him in that role too.
    (b) because the captaincy is messing up his game. He's trying too hard to make things happen for the whole team instead of focusing on his own game and getting the simple things right.
    (c) because the whole team were below par. Even Messi's averages would have been dragged down yesterday.

So what you are saying is he can be excused for not running 4 yards out of possession and not put a decent tackle in ! Instead of an half Arse attempt.

Seems to me what he’s saying and what I completely agree with is that people are accusing and confusing him of a lack of effort, when in actually fact effort has nothing to do with it, he works hard every game, he’s simply not being as effective, or having a poor game. He seems to be playing with the weight of the whole team on his shoulders and perhaps. Would love to see him back up top in a front 2, but that’s not his fault.

He's had one good season where's the Woodrow gone that would cut inside for a wide position and shoot his demise started under Struber and it's continued he needs to be told that he's a striker not an attacking midfielder so he needs to go back to the Woodrow of old and play up top. Given how current predicament I'd switch to a 5-3-2 formation like we played under Wilson in the promotion season instead of 3-4-3 and tell the wing backs that there first job is defence I can't ever remember Eaden and Thompson being bypassed with balls over the top like our wing backs are now although that might be because we had better center halves back then who covered them more efficiently.

Woodrow didn’t ‘work hard’ Saturday. Yes he ran a lot but that’s only part of the game. As a striker you can’t stand square on every time a balls played to you & allow the defender to come round the back of you & nick it just because you don’t want to get in a physical battle.

He’s got to shield the ball. Make it so that the defender has to either come through you & foul you or can’t get to the ball. Stand slightly side on with the ball away from the defender & back into him until there’s a pass on. Anybody who’s played footy will know what I’m talking about. He just doesn’t want to battle enough.

I mentioned Tom Bradshaw the other day. He was even smaller & more lightweight than Woodrow & he managed it every game. He had a tough ask for the first 4 months of his second season with us playing as a lone striker after McBurnie’s move fell through & the only other forwards were Ugbo & Thiam but he grafted game after game with far less support than Woodrow has currently. If he can do it there’s no excuse why Woodrow can’t.
