You're missing the point that, if indeed this was a release clause figure, it was agreed at the time the contract was signed.
It depends what the wording of the 'clause' is. It might just allow him permission to talk to any club who offers more than the said amount, which would still leave us holding the strings. However, knowing us, it is probably some form of Santa Clause and we will pretty much give him away. Surprising we didnt't shove him down the Bolton chimney on Christmas Day TBH. Surely we can play other clubs against each other for more than that!
I wouldn't play him. He doesn't want to stay with us so **** him. It's been pretty clear the last few games that he's ot interested. Puts the rubbish penalty against Birmingham in a different light doesn't it.
It's nothing to do with Rowing's valuation. If he has a release clause in his contract he has to be sold for that about if it is triggered. Who says it 300K?
Two conflicting reports - The Sun says it's £750k (linked on another thread somewhere), whereas this report is suggesting he'll be sold for £300k, hence the questions as to whether or not we'd actually agreed a contract with a £300k release clause in it.
A 300k release clause seems very low to me for Championship level. They are usually silly money at the time the contract is signed.
