Nah am not sure, although a fight happened before which resulted in a female police officer been hospitalised. Never the less I don't condone kicking and stamping on a man who is on the floor. No need at all.
The officer is lucky not to be facing attempted murder charges. The victim was on the floor and not in a position to defend himself and the officer deliberately went for the kick.
Exactly. If this had happened on Wellington Street, and he wasn’t a police officer and, dare I say it, the victim was white, the perpetrator would be facing a serious criminal charge. Whatever the provocation, this is unacceptable.
They do react and they're human beings. I agree with you. I also think its dangerous being a police officer sometimes. However, the policeman in that incident was the professional. When you are the professional you have to remain calm, difficult though it can be. Your training should inform your actions and you should know that you do not stamp on someone's head. If the guy on the ground was a complete twa.t we may all think that he actually deserved a good kicking. The police officer should know however that a kicking is totally unacceptable. He's the professional and he behaved unprofessionally.
Don't say it. Don't introduce race into every negative friggin thing that happens. Don't say the bloke on the floor was non-white. Don't say it weas a black guy who recently stabbed the army bloke. Just condemn violence the whole world over. When or where or by whom. Then we'll get somewhere.
I totally agree. In a perfect world it shouldn’t matter. But the OP referenced Lee Anderson making statements that I never thought I’d hear a British MP make. Not even Enoch. The evil that he represents is insidious and needs calling out for what it is. Pure unadulterated racism.
We don’t yet know what charges the officer will be facing though do we? Let’s wait and see then we can decide if the law is being applied fairly.
Its also come to light that the guy had just been tasered so he really was no threat' Andy burnham stated that it isn't clear cut' i beg to differ' what went on prior to this is irrelivent' the guy was lying motionless and the copper made a premeditated decision to kick and stamp on him' had it been me i'd have been in court first thing this morning.
That police officer lost control of himself. He has no place in policing, in my view. In regard to any prosecution, it is very difficult to see him being able to argue that his actions were reasonable or proportionate.
Again, I was referring to the OP and the statement that Lee Neanderthal made. Hopefully the law will be applied fairly.
TBF, Burnham has to be seen to remain neutral until the investigation is complete. He can't criticise the officer too much in case something comes to light that exonerates him - although I can't see anything that can justify the assault unless he was holding a detonator.
Agreed, It's wild that people think its reasonable for someone in public office to make a public statement offering an opinion on a ongoing investigation an investigation which could well result in a court case. Some people really are thick.
Few more video footage of the incident from different angles has emerged and none from my point of view supports the awful and extreme treatment the police used here. Hopefully the enquiry is fair in its findings and appropriate punishment is given out.
There's no excuse for kicking somebody prone on the ground in the head and the officer in question was clearly hyped up by what had gone before. Shouldn't have happened and should be fully investigated as nobody is above the law. But I can't get carried away with the sympathy given what the shits had already done to a woman PC.
Sorry for being so thick but for burnham to come out with a statement like " its not clear cut" is embarrassing and a insult to our intelligence' it was a premeditated assault' maybe he should have said he wasn't prepared to comment. The officer in question also sprayed pepper spray into someones face that was literally just stood there' he seems a very dangerous individual.
Yeah exactly, and they were in the wrong in the first place, which needed the police to get involved. And as awful as the broken nose is that shes got, what if that attack on her had been much worse, with a knife ?.
Just seen the cctv of the incident before which backs up the police that they were attacked before definitely puts another perspective on the situation.
