I know someone who got caught doing over 100 and he only got banned for a month, made the excuse that he needed is car for work, so they give him a huge fine and then slapped him with 9 points i think it was

    Be careful though

Some of the camera limits were changed earlier this year. Don't know what the limit is in S Yorks but this year a lot of forces reduced the limits to 10% + 2mph instead of the old 10% + 10mph. Think it was Home Office guidance for the whole UK but not sure.

"Tha needs to keep an eye on them dials on thi dashboard. Comes in very useful tha knows."

Thats the problem with speed obsession, its a lot safer to keep your eyes on the road...

The 10% + 10mph is a good guide for the allowance for a fixed penalty notice. As for fixed cameras, I'd always go thru on the limit, as, as you say some of them are very finely calibrated.

If you were speeding at Carlton, near the school

you may be up for a larger fine and points haul mate.
They dont like you speeding near schools.

Got stopped for doing 84mph on a motorway. £60 and 3 dots.

very surprised about that. I always thought that 30mph over the limit was a guaranteed summons.

He was following me in the Volvo traffic car and had been for a while. When he pulled me he showed me the video, told him that I was under the impression it was a national speed limit road, he gave me a bollockin. But seen as I'd only taxed the car that day I had all my documents on me, he checked they were all in order and asked if I wanted to surrender my license said yes and then he just issued me with the penalty notice and a receipt for my Liecense.

Yer a car driver, probably insured, easy to trace etc.

They'll throw book at thi. Not like these uninsured scum who are driving around, never getting caught.
