Apparently, you're not allowed to comment on a signing

until 5 minutes into his first game. then, its alright to say I told you he'd be *****. after trimming the squad down to a reasonable size, we've gone back to our old ways of adding numbers in for the sake of it.

Marc Richards, inspirational, bums on seats, defenders quaking at the thought.

Can I have my 150 quid back as well?

or is that needed to keep the hotdogs warm?

    Defender's been wanted

    Since Ritchie took charge.

It's no use bemoaning the telecommunications system and price of players 24 hours afore the deadline.

    If he had the brass

he could entice. on deadline day, money talks. Ritchie has probably made a few phone calls and no one wants to come for peanuts. but you're right, we've left it too late, or had all our eggs in one basket and been told no at the last minute. either way, piss poor management, yes.

SM, what balls, u'v just undermined your own argument in one single sentence. if the club had a load of cash people would come along. BUT, the club doesn't have a load of cash, so its far more difficult to attract players, last minute or not. so its nowt to do with piss poor managment, its to do with the the club sorting itself out, and not spending more than it has. SM, u on benefits by any chance?

as for buying at the last minute, i rate all teh players he's bought over the summer, although i don't know much about marc richards. kell et al i have seen play and rate. so, the club aren't just going out buying players toi replace for the sake of it, they not they have injured players coming back shortly so not going out and panic buying.

Ritchie hasn't wanted a defender all along, then he's on The Radio 24 hours afore the deadline saying he can't get one in and he needs to cos Vaughan's gone to Stockport.

    Or perhaps I misheard him.

    hey ho.

well, obviously, we know it's good to "give a player a chance"

but to some of us, this signing is filled with "will never work, but at least he'll be cheap". It reminds me of Shuker too - give the (vocal) fans what they want...whether it's re-signing poor players or replacing Conlon (with anybody).

Large squad sizes always make me think of Spackman's record 23 midfielders*....and that I'm sure 23 wages could have comfortably paid for 5 good ones (gotta allow for an injury!)

*I think the 23rd was Oster, brought in on-loan when we only had 22 to choose from (notwithstanding injuries). He had a half decent game at Burnley and was packed off.

I've got my next few weekends planned

painting this Sat afore England game, Donny races following Sat, no chance of me going to away games when we aint got a fookin prayer, so Donny home game on Sept 24th will be next time for me. by which time, either Richards has proved me wrong, or our lack of striker means we're in the bottom 3 or 4 and getting booed off etc.

still, the fence will need 2 coats.

    I agree with you

anyone on benefits isnt entitled to an opinion. cant pay, cant play.

do you think Ritchie has a smaller budget to work with than say Doncaster, Huddersfield and Bradford? just so I can manage my expectations. note: all the above local sides have recently had financial difficulties, get similar crowds, but have strikers that will score 20 or more goals this season.

True Reds Bond was Ridsdales idea

I guess Ridsdale convinced Cryne it was going to sell really well, it didnt hence why Ridsdale got the boot</p>

    taking a wild guess

i would have to put my money on the fact that the true reds bond scheme was agreed to by the board and not just ridsdale

RE: Wage budget there or there abouts?

wasnt the whole point of the boards complaint was that cos PR was a 100% owner he wouldn't show any of the other board members the accounts, thats why the 04 accounts are only just being signed off now. bugger, there i go stating facts again rather than just making stuff up.
