This is the annoying thing about the Reds and Davey. Two seasons running we have got the points that mattered to stay up. Last seasons cup run and this seasons derby wins against bogie teams. Also a double over Burnley and a win at Charlton for the first time in donkeys years. All plusses. BUT the stuff inbetween is sometimes woeful ie our away form in general. Until we start to level things out Davey will never be a popular choice with the fans.

I knew before I logged on that there would be someone getting hysterical

I don't like being two points away from the relegation zone any more than anyone else - but the fact is that we've not been playing games. That's not the same as dropping points. We got beaten at Cardiff, which glorious Doncaster Rovers (and I am so tired of people kissing rovers' arse when they've been **** most of the season and we've beaten them twice) showed is no great shame.

Three games in hand - look at what it can do for us... just three points would lift us above blackpool, six points would lift us above plymouth, and nine points would lift us above the glorious Doncaster Rovers.

Admittedly, this season has been a real disappointment for me - I had hope we wouldn't be anywhere near this mire again - but that being said, it's a bit much to have a pop at the manager when we've not been playing games. Here's hoping we get a run of form, and stick those three games in hand in the bank and leap up to 13th place in the table.

The other thing I'd like to see this year - as inevitable as this relegation dog fight appears to be - I'd like to see the fans pull together, acknowledge that Davey is not going to get laid off before the end of the season come what may - and and actually show enough bottle to not resort to hysterics (yes even if it goes to the wire).

Looking at the table it would seem that Norwich and Charlton really look in trouble - there is room for one other. I genuinely do not believe we're that one other.
