They can staff, they just haven’t needed to yet until they lift restrictions and put a load more nurses in the firing line. I for one can’t wait to **** missen a bit more every time the mrs leaves the house for work.

I think we should try to prevent as many premature deaths as possible. There's no caveat in that statement. It's total. We should try to prevent as many premature deaths as possible in our society as a whole, whatever the cause of death. We haven't done that. We've failed vulnerable children (it's my area of work and we've failed them fc*king spectacularly. No one knows where at lot of them are. The news of any child adversely affected by Covid-19 is tragic, for the families it must be horrendous, but it's a single water molecule in the Pacific Ocean compared to what you're going to read about over the next couple of years), we've failed those at risk of sexual and domestic abuse, we've failed many with life threatening but treatable illnesses, we've failed the health of the nation by suspending screening processes, ending early diagnosis and any hope of survival, we've failed the poorest in our society, we've failed to protect jobs and livelihoods, we've failed those fleeing tyranny in their home countries, and I'm only just scratching the surface because worldwide we've failed millions facing starvation.

We haven't even got close to preventing premature deaths from Covid-19. We've failed our health and care workers and the people they care for: those most susceptible to the disease.

We've protected those that can afford to stay at home.

Some of the everyone else did a week of lockdown if we were lucky and the young uns seem to me to not give a toss about anyone else, they seem to see it as an owd gits disease. Pigeonholing at its worst I know and a lot have followed the rules very well, but just saying what I see in on mi weekly supermarket gamble. So am not so sure that a % of `everyone else`are to be trusted to be sensible ,just as a % of oldies aren`t.

And weeks and weeks after this whole thing started, have now decided to make a point of self isolation of anyone arriving in the country.

The very first thing that should have happened.

I'm of the same opinion, although I think the virus was on the loose earlier than originally admitted....I've been reading that Spanish and Italian soldiers were falling ill in early December after taking part in The World Military Games which ran from 16th to 27th of October at the Wuhan Sports Centre.

Yeah, I can point to a few people who were essentially wiped out with what they though was flu in December... one of whom my ex wife, who was laid splat out on my settee so I could go to work...

I'm convinced we have already all had it, and I'm in the so called vulnerable group
