Cos there was about 500 of 'em .........

.... in the corner of the stand to our left, nearest our open end, singing Chelsea songs all match, and Chelsea weren't playing that day.

If it wasn't the 7.0 game it was the following season

The 3-2 game then? FFS there's a thing between Reading and Chelsea ..... End of! We got put in the side bit to our left, aparently the South Bank (?) and there was a bit of banter etc.... stories abound about incidents in the toilet.... Full time; they shouted something about having a go at them..... Barnsley charged... and they were off!

    Talking of Chelsea.......

81/82....... Barnsley supporters gave the police an ovation cos they got them back to their coaches safely after the 2-1 win. On the way out a car full of Chelsea pulled alongside our coach and started hitting the vehicle with lead pipes?

It would be around that year that our coach .....

.... pulled up about a mile from the ground cos the driver said it was too dangerous to go any further!

He made us get off in the middle of all these Chelsea nutters and walk the rest of the way. Rough times in those days and very little Police protection

    Chelsea.....

We had a drink with some members of whatever Chelsea club and then we got left with a fair walk too... As we got to the tunstiles a few Chelsea sorts attacked us.... Normally; we took at least 2/300 on special trains evrywhere.... i think there were 70 bookings for that day?

Yes and when you got through the turnstiles ....

.... you still weren't safe, I remember a bit of a walkway up onto our bit of the old terraces and their fans were stood on their side on a higher bit of ground with their shiny red dockers just about at our head height!

RE: Yes and when you got through the turnstiles ....

That walkway....... we walked through, my good schoolfriend and i, and then diverted to the toilets for a well earned piss after holding bowels etc in for so long to the ground.. Heard a keruffle outside .... walked out apprehensively to '**** all about'.... walked further upwards on that ramp) and then 30 Chelsea came down and kicked the **** out of us. Two policemen looked on, smirking all the time...... my mate enquired as to why they allowed the kicking we had in full view of them and they replied................. "Fack off back up norf if you don;t like it you norvern cant!"..... Great eh?
Remember those 25 Chelsea in our end?
And what about that Friday night game at Oakwell when, to be honest, man a lairy London person came unstuck?

.... think it was cos we had loads of massive rock hard miners (in NCB Donkey Jackets) who dint give a f*ck what went off cos after a week on days going darn the pit, an away trip to Chelsea was a breeze!

It was certainly not breeze that day at Stamford Bridge.... Mind you; after their visit to Barnsley on that Friday night, we were became known as 'Dodge City' in certain Chelsea circles. Shocking isn't it?

On a slightly lower level , I used to enjoy getting coined for 90 mins

    at Filbert Street.

Best was when the took the away fans out of the pen and gave us some seast up the side, shame the seats only had access from the front as it gave the retards at Leicester even easier targets.
