    It's not bad

nice design as well but as with everything BFC, the only thing putting me off is that in just over 6 months time the design will be outdated when they bring out a new kit.

I wish they'd start having kits for two years, maybe then i'd buy some of their merchandise, at the moment i'll stick to buying england ones, better quality, cheaper, no advertisements all over them and will be the current kit for twice as long. No competition really is there. Change our kits to lasting two years and i'd buy both, thats 80 quid they'd get off me, i'd also buy the likes of the usb thing, 92 quid. maybe some shorts too? probably around 150 quid i'd spend in the club shop that I currently don't.

£80 off one person every two seasons or £40 from thousands of others every season... Not rocket science...

do we sell thousands of shirts?

And how many others are put off by the fact that they change every season? Where I sit at Oakwell there are hardly any people wearing barnsley shirts, certainly not as many as there used to be before a lot of other teams went to changing every two years or reducing prices

I don't think people stopped buying shirts because other teams only bring out one every two seasons. It's probably more to do with the quality than anything. And that most know after the new year they get reduced to half price or whatever.

I think you're right on the latter two points, the quality in recent years hasnt been there and it's put people off (i know it put me off) and knowing that it is going to be half price soon does the same but that is down to it only lasting one year which was my original point surely? If it lasted two years they would sell a lot more.

I also think that other teams reducing theres does put people off because its natural to not want to pay more than others are. I believe thats the only reason that ticket prices are roughly the same throughout the league and why away fans complain when charged more than home fans. The england kits are even more important because they are basically competition for barnsley if the buyer can't afford both because they support both sides and will have to decide which to buy.

I would absolutly love it if next season barnsley announced that they would be keeping just the home kit for two seasons as a trial and I think they'd be pleasantly surprised by the sales.

They'd just have steady sales throughout the year though, and, more likely than not, those that buy their shirts when they come out still will. They'll therefore miss out on this money the following season in place of a possibility that sales might increase. I don't think the sales increase over two seasons will offset the lost revenue on shirt release days.
It's kind of like in a supermarket, too. Lots of people will go in to buy the shirt on release day, then buy something else at the same time.
Back to the point of the memory stick-the reason it's priced higher than an ordinary 2GB stick is because of the design and the stuff it contains. I'm sure sales of the 06/07 season highlights didn't take a hit because people thought there'd be the 07/08 highlights coming out in a year. People didn't think that the cover of the DVD/VHS/whatever would be outdated by next season's cover.
