I've never compared them to other clubs

Being that I've no intention of buying one for another club I've thought it irrelevant, it's not like I'm buying a car when I would compare prices.
Can I afford the price and do I think it reasonable to pay that - yes, so I buy the ticket.

it's not rocket science though is it to have a contract which reduces wages on relegation? nt

agree with you but structured payments could be achieved by having reds savers accounts application ,forms which could be available at the booking office ,save for your ticket through the savers account, no interest charged and it benefits the club and its instant access to pay for your ticket before the deadline date.

It's all well and good claiming that we are the cheapest..

in the division, but as other posters have said, I could not give a toss about the prices at other clubs. The point is that there is a ceiling for everyone that they will probably not go beyond. This has already happened, especially on a match by match basis. The club have to think beyond simply putting prices up as any easy way to raise additional income. I daresay that many current season ticket holders will be adopting a wait and see policy with regards to renewal, to see what quality of player comes in prior to commiting to renewal.

redstar, how do you think the club will afford to buy and pay better quality players without increased revenue from season ticket prices?

I wouldn't mind a small increase, but i do reckon that last season season ticket holders should get a small reduction, a loyalty bonus etc, form the standard price.

also think should be able to pay in 3 x equal monthly instalments from now till end of july, soften the blow a bit.

If you give a 'loyalty bonus' to existing season ticket holders (8,000 or so) , that would mean the 'small increase' would only apply to the few new applicants we have. Wouldn't create enough extra revenue to make a difference.

RE: Do we have 8000 ST holders?

I don't know exactly how many we have, was just using those figures as an example...

As a season ticket holder I’d be all for paying an extra £10 and then let the club reduce the price of tickets into Oakwell.

Seams a good idea and can see the club making more money selling more tickets for less to try and bring fans back.

    How about 10,000 paying £250?

You can't get a reds saver account if you don't live near Barnsley. I've tried.

I know that we need to raise more income...

what I am saying is that we need to think beyond simply putting prices up and taking supporters for granted....
