What's to fix you're just being a knob as normal. I've only said let people make their own minds up. No need for any response from you.

Ah cheers for that, lovely stuff.

Perhaps don't comment on political threads if you don't agree.

Wrong and insulting, really. Nice strawmanning. You just can't stand that poor people are allowed to think for themselves, can you?

And of course they're all NHS workers.

Go on then, be the first, explain your thought process and explain why the statement you reacted to is wrong. I'd genuinely love to know.

What? Where on earth have I said that? Also, I would guess that a good amount of "poor" people can see through that piece of sputum Farage and his dogwhistle policies precisely because they can think for themselves. I also think plenty of non-poor people will have been taken in by his lies.

Would you care to explain why you're voting Reform or why you think people are?

“Loads of people in Barnsley are just racist and hate brown people and don’t want them here even though all immigrants work in our NHS and there’s no immigration problem”, is basically what you’re saying. “ If only if these plebs were educated to think like me..”

Im not voting actually. I don’t like Reform, particularly, but to deny we have an issue with immigration is ludicrous. Though I appreciate a lot on the left are fine with open borders. Anyway, Labour have won, congratulations. And I’ll bet they’ll never be out of power again, considering the constitutional changes they’ve got lined up. They’re not for me, I admit. Because I’m not a Gramscian Eurocommunist (Starmer is more of a Pabloite, has been all his life). But some people are, and that’s fine.

To put it another way. Tory scum being Tory scum led to Tory scum losing their jobs.
It's hardly a massive surprise that Boris ******* Johnson acted like a self centred ***** is it

You'll note I didn't mention poor people or plebs - I mentioned "people". And yes, I do think people voting for a party led by noted liar and bigot Nigel Farage are either hard of thinking or hate immigrants. This is demonstrated by the fact two of their policies are diametrically opposed - how on earth do they expect to cut NHS waiting lists and stop nurses, doctors and social workers immigrating to this country? Anyone with a braincell could see that. And that's just one example.

I do think we have an issue with immigration. I also think Farage is a liar and his "policies" to sort it are ludicrous.

I don't think farage is against doctors, nurses social workers etc coming to the country. He said years ago he wanted a Australian style points system. Just not a fan of grown men on boats travelling across many safe countries using our services.

We don't have an issue with immigration, the problem is lack investment in housing and services so that Tory cronies can get richer.

Torygraph is predicting 13 seats for Reform. I think they will definitely do better than early predictions. The same silent voters that got Brexit over the line. Depressing, but at least the Tories will be smashed.

"I do think that people who vote Reform are hard of thinking or bigoted". There we are. Don't worry, comrade, they'll all be off to the Gulags soon enough anyway.

Agree about cronyism. But to say that our current levels of immigration is fine is nonsensical.

Like I say, Sir Keir is here now. I don't know why people are worrying about Reform. Labour are going to win probably the largest majority in history and they'll likely never be out of power again. Get out and celebrate!

Here we go, the typical facile anti-asylum seeker rhetoric. Shall we do the usual dance where you spout the common misconceptions, I explain them and then you suddenly disappear?

We certainly do have an issue with the scale of immigration into the UK.

What level would you call unsustainable?

We could run probably very efficiently on around 200k additional per year which allows us to have the infrastructure to cope.

600 to 700k per year (net was 685k in 2023) wouldn't be sustainable without very large tax hikes to accommodate people.

Immigration is important to this country and we have always welcomed this and should continue to do so, but it does have to have some controls in place. It's also fair to accept that mechanisms should be put in place for people to apply in a third party country legally, then if they attempt to enter illegally, they are immediately deported to the the country they have entered from. We have to take our fair share of people and recognise levels may be above that 200k in exceptions of aiding a national emergency, but a complete open door policy surely nobody can believe is a sensible policy?

I am aghast that none of the main parties have committed to aim for a sensible controlled level. Reform wouldn't even be a part of this election should the main parties have not been too afraid to discuss options.

In Barnsley we are fairly insulated to an extent on a large influx of people, however consider Skegness where reform are expected to win. It's becoming a ghost town partly due to Tory cuts but also the largest 3 hotels are all being used to house immigrants and are a no go zone for anyone else. It's had a huge impact on that town so the question answers itself as to why they will vote reform.

I've just had my thank you from Dan J on twitter for trusting him with my vote.
