I think you start every season with the goal of staying in the division, so you can have another go the following season. Anything else for a club like us is on a season by season basis and the goals will change as those seasons progress. This season we have been unlucky. I honestly felt that we had a chance of top 10 and maybe a play off slot, then we lose Vaz, Drinks and Butts. If we had them 3 and added a couple in Jan, who knows? We might be lucky next season, be nice to see us get through a season without having to sell our best players.
It's ironic that the fans we need to come back through the gate to help us move forwards to potential promotion won't return until we are promoted.
I'd be happy with... In priority order 1 Avoid relegation 2 Playing decent football 3 Winning more matches than we lose 4 A decent cup run Realistically anything above this is a massive bonus.
"but andy ritchie wasn`t good enough to keep us up on a low budget" Did we get relegated then cos I cant remember that one. Think you mean you looked into your crystal ball and thats what you saw.
we should always strive to better our selves, that goes without saying but the financial implosions happening around us should be a wake up call to all us, we all want better or the best for our clubs but i dont think we should try and buy success, 1, its not guaranteed and 2 it could destroy us financially as we have seen in the papers. to your question m8 i think it not too unrealistic to be a top ten team every year, a good cup run as often as poss, and the team putting in a shift every week.
Play good football and accumulate as many points as possible. But do absoloutely nothing that will jeopordisde the club financially.
I`ll go along with that. Whilst we have been finishing bottom half at the end of our Championship seasons, I think all bar 1 season we have climbed to within spitting distance of the play off places but have been unable to kick on and Davey actually had us in amongst them early one season. So its not all been doom and gloom and one of these times when things come together and gel we may just suprise a few. To get promoted though we would probably have to get the majority of our points before the January transfer window.
Or be anonymous in mid table until the end of January - then have a good run in; similar to what Hull did a few seasons ago.
Dont think we can be anonymous in mid table when the footballing world sees us as relegation favourites year on year.
No expectations Other than I expect the players to give 100% each time they play for us. On the whole, I think they have this season, so expectations met.
no not at all, if ritchie had stayed we would have gone down the poster was writing as if ritchie hadn't got the sack, so i replied same manor. clever dick
I knew what you was getting at but you still used a crystal ball there Gypsy Rose Marlon with 28 games left in season.
