There are several ancient civilisations believed to have used purpose made 'sunglasses' fashioned from polished quartz and crystal to protect their eyes from the sun. Roman Gladiators were believed to have used them when in the arena. A detail lost on Russell Crowe and the art directors of erm...Gladiator. The BM has a cool pair.

The ancient Chinese invented those 'slitty' ones that were all the rage in the 80s, popularised by the likes of Andrew Ridgeley.

In the aforementioned REM lyric, he sings "the greatest thing since bread came sliced" in a deliberate move to circumnavigate the pedantic feckers of the Barnsley FC supporters forum.

They're not college radio gods for nothing, tha knows.

Yes, very good. Another Ken classic! I saw a new one recently, The Angel's Share - really good, very powerful but funny too and as with most Ken films, you actually learn something. Rare that nowadays.
