Yeah I've sat there a couple of times - folk were coming to blows among themselves towards the end of Wavey-Davey era, not nice. All I can say is if you sit in block D or E there's not much swearing, honest! I would certainly not worry about taking my kids there.
Sitting where you sit the language has always been industrial has been for a number of seasons even before I moved down there. There's a number of lads over six foot round there myself included and I agree it can come across a bit aggressive especially when the bloods fired up there is on one around there who is actually out to cause anyone any harm.. All you'll see is just frustration getting released after another abject display etc by people who are very passionate about the team they follow. I think one of the issues maybe its her first experience of a football game from the stands and was a bit intimidated by the atmosphere etc. Its a bit of a cutlure shock first time out. Can still remember my first games now.
Ask him politely to watch his language If he gives you jip, ask the steward to do something. Now I must admit, I swear at the football, and to be honest, I don't swear that often when i'm not at the match, it just sort of comes out. I don't join in the "the referee's a ****er" chants, but occasionally I might call him a blind useless ****, or tell him to get a ****ing grip, it just sort of slips out, and it's usually directed at the referee. I understand what others are saying, but personally, if someone asked me to tone my language down, i'd apologise and try my best to keep it to myself.
Re: Brilliant Anyone who swears, stands, sings, smokes at football matches should be pointed out to the stewards/police and shot on the centre circle at full time. That's how it works on here isn't it?
what we did was to move around ground untill you found an amicable spot then you stood there evey time. i aknowledge that you can't move around as easy with the seatling only arrangement but i'm sure with the help of the box office staff you'll find somewhere suitable.as far as the cussing goes just explain things to her cos it's not just football matches this happens its nearly all spoting events, plus town centre's,bus/train journeys in fact you get this in most aspects of life nowadays unfortunately.as for the aggressive behaviour its just passion of which i#m sure she'll develop plenty of if she persues the pastime of supporting the reds which i hope she does. good luck.
Re: Brilliant No Brynn that is how you interpret it. The rules of the football stadia say that there should be no smoking, no standing and the language should be moderated. Those are not the rules of the BBS, they are the Government/ FA/FL rules. Like it or not. But there is nothing to stop you singing!!
