Keith Hill signed 10 of the players who played in the league for us this season. That's something to do with it isn't it? That's more than Danny Wilson signed, who has been blamed for our relegation further up the thread.

If the squad you have to work with is made up of players brought to the club by a previous manager, then that previous manager does have an influence on how your team perform, doesn't he? Or am I missing something.

I like how he gets credit for the development of John Stones. I wonder what the academy coaches think to that statement.

Flicker retained Mcnulty. Nothing to do with Hill. Flicker also retained Kennedy, again nothing to do with Hill.

Nothing? Nothing at all? Who brought the players to the club in the first place? Who brought Flicker to the club in the first place? Just wondering like.

Name the 10 players. I imagine the majority were out of contract and could have been released by Flicker. The others being mostly made up of players we all wanted to see stay.

Dawson, Perkins, Cywka, Dagnall, Cranie, Etuhu, Kennedy, Golbourne, Wiseman and Mellis.

Plus Cofie and McNulty who didn't play.

    PS

And Flicker himself of course. Was that list of 10 the players you wanted to see stay?

Cofie was signed by Flicker in the summer.

Perkins was our POY and rated by most. Mellis the same, many predicted a successful season for him.

Golbourne was a very good left back who we received good money for.

Etuhu, Mcnulty, Kennedy, Cywka and Craine were all retained by Flicker and could have been released.

So the only ***** he really left us with was Dawson. Who Wilson rates highly enough for a contract extension.

And Wiseman, who fair enough was *****.

Surprised we didn't get promoted after that analysis.

Keith loves you all, I'm sure.

It's been done to death. Even me using " it's been done to death" has been done to death. And yet it's remarkable.

If anyone still thinks Hill's at all to blame for any of the current Barnsley squad that will be playing in L1 next season, it's probably a consolation that he's assembled one at Spotland that's currently better equipped to succeed in that division.

    Always here to help.

No, he won't be, we've finally got rid of 'em all. But, Like I said, 10 of the players who played for us during our relegation season were brought to the club by Keith Hill. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. It's a fact that's being argued against, but it's a fact all the same. I don't blame Keith Hill for our relegation, but both Flicker and Wilson were restricted to a certain extent by players on the books brought to the club by Keith. That doesn't constitute blame, but to claim he had nothing to at all to do with our relegation is stretching it a bit too far for me.

What we doing here? Taking random words and phrases from your post? OK, I'll go with "that will be playing in L1 next season".

My error, I thought you said you'd got rid of them all. Anyway a squad that currently contains Dawson, Kennedy et al is not currently as good as the one Rochdale have.

    That's currently. Things change.

Which all stems from the White Knight. The berk exploited this though.

He didn't leave us with Davies. The berk benefited from the previous manager's foresight.

How did he leave us a 17 year old lad who came through the academy?

Without a shadow of a doubt, your squad is better than ours right now. I'm not sure if your first 11 is, but your squad is because we haven't got one. I think we've got 7 experienced professionals, plus kids. Fortunately for us, Kennedy aside, the players who remained in contract are the ones the majority of us wanted to keep, our best players. We may or may not hold on to those. We've offered contracts to 4 players, one of them being Dawson and another Mellis, who, it appears, we want to reject the contract so we can get some brass if he signs for someone else.

Who'll have the better squad come August? Dunno and wouldn't like to say. We'll have to wait and see. Personally, I believe having so few contracted players is a blessing, it gives us the chance of a fresh start and I'm looking forward to the new season.

But you'll not hear me saying we should beat 'the likes of Rochdale'. It'll be a tough game and you deserve exactly the same respect as every other team in the division. You're in their on merit and we have no divine right to beat anyone. Can't wait for it all to begin to be honest.
