That’s not what you said at all. You said 5 days in a row with a decrease in calls. In reality it’s been increasing for 3 days in a row.
I think this is the assumption that we need to question. For whatever reason that doesn't seem to be happening. Although I appreciate why we need to be cautious, but if hospital admissions and deaths are going to rise like they did previously there's going to be a significant lag this time
Currently (23/9) 1381 in hospital and 192 on ventilators in England. These figures have roughly tripled since 1st September. Comparatively these figures are low compared to March/April, but the testing system was even more inadequate then than it is now. Figures in Wales, Scotland and NI are lagging, but are not seeing the same increase as England although starting from a lower base.
That's why I like it. I have a tattoo of Diane Abbott on my left arse cheek & one of Karl Marx on the right though.
Ok I'll take your word for it cant be arsed researching it to be honest mate, just want this nightmare to be over. I was basing it on those ads at end of lockdown about it spreading on surfaces. Unfortunately I can only see infection rates getting worse as we are relying on the british public using common sense when half of them dont understand keep left unless overtaking when using a motorway.
We dropped our daughter at uni two weeks ago. One of the last things we said was that there was a strong possibility that she wouldn't be able to come home for Christmas. This is just common sense. It isn't a normal year and things could get a lot worse before they get better. It is better to be completely honest and face the possibility now than in early December.
Don't know if it falls under conspiracy theory but reports today that Revealed: Sir Patrick Vallance has £600,000 shareholding in firm contracted to develop vaccines. Seems like a bit of a conflict of interests at any rate.
I hope it's ok for her to spend Christmas with you and my guess would be it will be. April was so bad here with over a thousand deaths every day for nearly two weeks, yet three months later in July things were way better. Now is nothing like what April was for deaths and they know a lot more about Covid and have treatments to help. Three months from now (Christmas) should be alright and if not something has gone badly wrong. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...hs-than-usual-occurred-in-uk-homes-since-june The knock on affect of Covid meaning everything else is on the back burner.
She is in a big student town in Wales, and a local lockdown there means no non-essential travel outside the area. She will probably be home, but there is a risk that we can't get there to pick her up and so better to face that realistically now than get upset in December.
Christmas will be different this year for many families I’m sure. Better to realise that now than expect it to all be fine by then. If nothing else, Santa has to be in a high risk group, based on age. Not a great idea for him to go to millions of houses is it.
good point, i think i shall start telling the kids now so i dont have to spoff £100's on toys. yours Mr Tightarse.
Santa has a job on this year with all the restrictions across the world. We are all in this together with tough months ahead. Unless of course you're other half is Boris Johnson and then you swan off to Italy with your mates where she's currently staying in a £600 a night hotel.
