that that should not be the case with the minimum wage.

sounds a bit socialist to me that, what about working together and give the money to 5% of the population and knackers to the rest ,then when the 5% B*ll*cks things up by getting too greedy, the 95% can bail them out ,thats the true conservative way

socialist politics should scare everyone in thtis country

Brown is robbing everyone in this country

Brown has just bailed out the banks, when the real way to come out of recession would have been to invest in the infrastructure of the country, and get the masses working again. Labour's not working

There are millions out of work.

Those on strike should be sacked with immediate effect, and their roles given to those who actually want a job.

RE: if a team of binmen in Bradford can empty 230 bins per hour

I think you have the same problem in engaging your brain as the Lib Dem council in Leeds does. Whether a bin emptying ratio is possible will differ not only from city to city but from route to route within a city. For example, it might be possible to hit the target you mention if a route is a densely populated area of terraced housing, but unreasonable otherwise.

    If they re-evaluated my job

They'd realise I'm being grossly underpaid.

    Not the point

I was responding to the point they'd re-assessed the 'skills' required.

Hey, it's better than people that can't be bothered to work during their entire lives.

I won't - not in that sense anyway

Could always get made redundant of course as I'm aware.

I'm on a lower basic at work than people I consistently outperform every month due to them having worked here longer than me, so if any further pay reviews are undergone mine needs adjusting upwards.

Good job the bonus system means I get more than them in the end else I'd be outta here.

    4 bins a minute

These bin wagons empty 2 at a time, thats a drop every 30 seconds. No way is that possible on an average street

    As a Leeds resident

I do wonder what I'm paying Council Tax for at the moment, what with the bins overflowing and no post being delivered... (dunno)

And yes I know Royal Mail isn't run by the council.

true but don't think many who work on here would be happy with a £6,000 pay cut
