Are you officially writing for the Daily Mail now Journo?

You'll be after Jan Moir's job....journalism is easy when you just deal in hyperbole and sterotypes...

Dunno, maybe they actually put the bins back somewhere

Leeds covers a big area mate, Ilkley's not exactly full of

back to backs for exampleis it? And if you're comparing it to Bradford then there's plenty of terraced houses to go at there you know.

RE: Not a 25% reduction then

Journo!!!!! Come on mate this is ****** and you know it. I know you well pal and I know that you dont actually believe that people work in lower paid unskilled jobs just because they couldnt be bothered at school!! Dont want to be re-naming you ToryBoyToffTyke. When I look at what some of my old school/college mates are doing now, many of those who did fantastically well at school are the ones who are working in lower paid jobs. Opportunities, expectations and various life circumstances also play a big part. Plus...I know people who have worked and tried harder than anybody ive ever met, but due to their circumstances (learning disability etc) either cant get work, or work in the lowest paid unskilled jobs. As for - would I do that job for 12k? - not unless I was absolutely desperate. Id certainly look at similar paid jobs in much nicer working environments first. I bet it was a right job this morning when it was absolutely pissing it down and cold outside. Totally agree with Wilkojohnson by the way. People are striking for reason and on the whole I admire them. If my profession had shown as much metal in the past it would be in a much better state now. Power to the workers I say! :)

ooh I love political party Top Trumps.

I particularly like the 'Let's pretend everything is fine now and everything that isn't fine is either Thatcher's or Eton's fault and nothing, absolutely NOTHING to do with the actual Government in Power" category. It always wins on here.

RE: What would the Tories have done then?

they would have had a bigger war chest having not blown it all like these clowns. Most people save far a rainy day, Blair and Brown spent it all

Well said ive got mates at our depot that have had to take pay cuts from £19,000 to £14,000 a striking bin man in Leeds was on Look North yesterday morning who is expected to take the same pay cut, BMBC didnt go on strike we just accepted it & carried on.

On another point if bin men in Leeds are on £19,000 they are seriously under paid compared to bin men in Barnsley by about £3000-£5000
