Another clue Beinn Bheag & Loch a' Bhraoin on the approach to the view point - A' Challiach [img=http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/2835/picture016ry9.jpg]
Well done! I dearly want to climb it but gave it a miss this weekend due to lack of time, fitness and practice. Its a proper mountain and the picture does it no justice.
actually "a" Beinn Dearg (red peak) is in the shot to the left but I only looked up the Atholl version so you were close.

RE: Well done! I would think at this time of the year it would be a full on winter mountaineering job. 'The Forge' is on my hit list too - just need to buck up the courage to sit with feet dangling from Lord Berkley's Seat. I have plans to stay a few days at Mellon Udrigle (west side of Gruinard Bay) and would hope to take in An Teallach while there.
possibly But much of the snow is now melting but we were up to our knees occaisionally in soft stuff. An ice axe would have been advisable on our route as we took an unconventional approach though rocky sections were easier. Would likely have been an Ideal day to tackle the forge yesterday but as I said fitness, time and confidence were against us and I am keen to attempt a route taking in the pinnacles which requires more time than 6 or 7 hours I could get away for. An Teallach is up there with Aonoch Eagach & Inaccessible Pinnacle & Lochnagar as must do's.
Think that 10 hours would be more likely for me. So, a decent day in mid June, plenty of day light and lots of time to enjoy the walk (and early enough in the summer to miss out on the worst of the dreaded midges). Sure I read somewhere recently that the Inn Pin may be roped/laddered in future. If not it's a bit out of my league I'm afraid. I've got unfinished business on Braeriach though first.
Erm Nice, yes, and it must have been a brilliant day but you can't compare hills in Scotland with the Alps.
Once did a Cairngorm expedition from Loch Morlich or near enough..
Breariach
Sgurr an Lochain Uaine
Carn Toul
Devils Point
Midge infested night in Bothy in the Larig Ghru
Carn a' Mhaim
Derry Cairngorm
Ben Macdui

I disagree The alps are amazing but the landscapes in the British Isles are just as good for different reasons.
RE: I disagree I agree with that but I was replying to taxi's coment : "when i went to Austria it was pretty much the same". Maybe, I suppose, if he was in just a hilly bit of Austria.
Sounds an interesting expedition. That first day is the ridge walk I most want to do. Failed attempt on Braeriach last May (29th) - within about 500 metres of the summit but the conditions were a bit rough. After turning back it was an interesting descent for a while.
