I don’t recall us creating too many clear cut chances each game. The lump it up into the box and hope the 2nd ball fell kindly tended to give us half chances around the edge of the box. The shooting from these positions was pretty poor, especially from the midfielders. The best chances always seemed to fall to Brittain who never looked confident in putting his laces through it.
Having sold Chaplin, we'll probably keep Frieser. Both similar players, bags of energy, great at pressing, just with an inconsistent end product. Both seem to make others better also. Jacob Brown hasn't done a tap since leaving us having benefitted from Chaplins energy.
Brown came into his own by the end of last season. Won player of the month twice and scored and created goals.
