I've been totally pissed off with events over the last few weeks and think we are going down but I don't think Shepherd is trying to sink the club... not intentionally anyway.

P.S. I don't think your post should be taken off, I don't think any post should be taken off because we're supposed to have freedom of speech in this country and Shepherd should have more important things to do than threatening legal action against fans opinions.

However, if posts like yours (and one I had deleted after the Richie sacking) mean that BBS could be closed down then Cazi has to do it.

What a stupid thing to say on your behalf, of course there's freedom of speech, but as with in the real world, there are some things you cannot go saying. I'm glad the message was deleted if you were making libellous comments, I think Site admin acted in the correct way in this instance

When Something In A Post Could Be Libel.......

could site admin just delete the parts of someones post that is libel and not the whole thing ? That way people haven't wasted there time doing a post for it to be gone before you know it. That way both sides are happy with the outcome (or should be).

There is a big difference between posting potentially libellous accusations on a public forum and making those accusations in a private letter.

 

I suppose they could, if they're trained lawyers up to speed on defamation laws.

Well, perhaps by not posting comments that could be construed as libel, they wouldn't be wasting their time.

Surely it's better to have the post deleted, than for it to be edited by a 3rd party which could change the meaning that you wanted to portray.
