Ah, well, each to their own. He, like the rest of the team, was poor today. They are earning a lot of money, to perform for us, the fans. I'm not getting on Adam Hammill's back, nor am I getting on the teams back, but the fact of the matter is, they were very, very poor today, and that must be addressed. 90 minutes of nothing-ness is not acceptable. We had 3 shots (I use the word 'shots' very loosely) throughout the game, and never once tested Westwood. I feel that my rating was totally adequate, both of Hammill, and the rest of the team. What's the point in saying, 'Yeah, well played, you did good today...? That's like giving your dog a bone after he's just pissed on your rug.
And as a team we were absolutely abysmal No player played well in a poor system, when we play with two decent wingers that didn't play on the wing. Poor performance but the team weren't allowed to play to their strenghs.
RE: Ah, well, each to their own. You see - that's where you're missing my point (deliberately?). I wouldn't be saying to him 'well played today mate' - I'm not saying that we should soft soap him. What I'd be saying to him (as a manager) would be critical and constructive. As fans, I think we can accept that he didn't play well, but we can get behind him positively (i.e. 'Better luck next time lad') and afford to show him some encouragement (based upon the fact that he has just arrived, and that we know how good he can be). You seem to have a very black and white attitude to man management. Must be nice. As you say, each to their own.
Rightly or wrongly he gave away the free kick that lead to their first goal so the MOTM award baffled me a little. All about opinions though.
RE: Disagree completely He was shocking today and numerous times failed to beat the first man with his crosses. Therefore Poet was fair in his assessment. Should he have a good game on tuesday night Poet will no doubt say so and balance the view out a bit.
