He has but he'd still be viewed by many as another Steve Parkin or Keith Hill - lower league manager promoted above his ability and the cheap option.

Ian Holloway is the man for me hands down if flicker does go which I don't think is on cards.

If things continue as they are we'll be sunk without trace. Very worrying times.

He's having a rest so no chance he'd come anywhere near us.

Taking time out of the game and would probably be above our budget anyway.

well there is still hope then if he hasn't signed for anyone else yet. he will be looking for opportunities but I agree he can do better than us.

Good four pennorth, Orsen. Can't disagree with any of it, and it is significant that most of the replies also agree with you instead of calling for your head on a pike as they would have done a few weeks ago. Our lack of ideas is starting to glare through now. As for O'Grady, I thought he looked slower than usual yesterday too. I think it's down to what is being asked of him every game; he IS plan A, he takes and gives a constant battering. You can't keep that up for ever, and I think he showed signs of battle-fatigue yesterday.

Good post. Yesterday was a low ebb for me. No ideas and little innovation against limited opponents. I'm not usually a sAck the manager type but we are showing little or nothing. O'Grady needs to be used better. He's good enough to play at this level but not quick enough to do what is currently being asked of him. The link between midfield and attack is crucial. Two defensive midfielders and a toiler like JOB will offer little in this respect. We don't need Paddy to bea team player we need to exploit the space his individualism creates. Sad, worrying times.

No we're not going, also agree about Danny Wilson, get him back with redders or as his side kick

His disabled daughter works in London. It's one of the reasons he took the Palace job so he could see his child more often. When he comes back into management i'm pretty sure it will be with another London job.

Good post. I do think with the players we have we should have more points than we do. I don't think anyone would doubt Flitcroft's commitment , but I think he is plainly learning his trade at Oakwell and still has much to learn. Unfortunately whilst he is practicing on us he's likely to take us down..Like Hill before him he is out of his depth here. He earned his chance by keeping us up, but he's now found to be be wanting..
Problem is who else is out there who would come and do a decent job?
I like the Danny Wilson idea, exactly who is needed I reckon, but could he be persuaded?

Can't understand people on here, yes yesterday wasn't great, but I don't see how that's flitcroft's fault. Before yesterday's game, who, honestly would have picked a different XI? The team played well at Ipswich in 2nd half, it's only natural to pick the same team. We created yesterday, and did well from set pieces, which is flickers job no? To get us creating and to work on set pieces. The finishing was abysmal yesterday, but I fail to see how that's flickers fault. We were good defensively yesterday, too, which to me says we have been working on that this week.

Hate changing managers, I'm firmly of the belief that a manager should be given at least 18 months in a job, or what's the point? You really think a new manager will solve all our problems? What's he gonna do? Play himself and finish all the created chances off himself?

Onwards and upwards, with flitcroft leading the charge, YOUU REEEDDSS

Quite a few people wouldn't have felt the need to play 2 defensive midfielders plus another player in O'Brien who offers no attacking threat at home against Donny.

Flitcrofts decision making, tactical awareness and substitutions appear to be getting absolutely no better. The level of performance has improved very marginally. We have just failed to beat two of the worst teams in the league at home. This isn't good enough.

Have the performances improved though? Or have we just been playing some rank bad sides? Keeping a clean sheet against a dismal donny is no barometer.

We are looking like Hill's side this time last year.

Slow buildup from the back, 33 passes later, we are no further up the field.

League 1/2 Manager, League 1/2 players. Three guesses where we are headed?

If the poor, negative tactics, and poor predictable substitutions aren't the manager's fault then whose fault are they?

Ultimately, if we are second bottom after 1/4 of the season, if it is not the manager's fault, what the point in having one?

Seems to be at odds from much of the criticism on here(some of it justified IMO)over the last few weeks suggesting the problem's been the endless long route one punt to O'Grady, rather than too much passing.
