We don't always see eye to eye DT. But I'm with you on this one.

Maybe it's an age thing & that the younger ones have already moved on from Man Utd but the amount of Man Utd supporting Barnsley folk between the ages of 20-30 is beyond belief.

The people who say they support Utd, City, Rat eaters, Wednesday Leeds and such like, would never watch their local team anyway because they don't even watch the team they say they support only on TV and get most info on the club they say they support from forums & radio and pass other peoples opinions off as their own, just to be able to have something to talk about and we have as many as the big clubs, today at work 2 or 3 people will say to me we wo **** again Saturday won't wi ? We're going down this time can't see us getting out of it, I've been to more friendly's in last 18 months then some of the people in the work places clubs pubs and Facebook who claim to be Barnsley fan have to competitive games in last 10 year, so if that's your reason for hating a club I think it's time you started hating the people who attach themselves to clubs for the sake of it instead of the clubs

The irony of this thread is that Fulham are the shining example of a club that bought its way to the top.

I wouldn't say thrilled but it is kind of funny watching a giant flounder so badly.

A Man Utd 'fan' at work who is from Stairfoot and incidently laughs at Barnsleys misfortune this morning said 'I'm starting to get fed up of United been ****'

Funny how people react when they are so used to winning

Re: sorry Fi you are wrong here

It's quite breathtaking how little you actually know about football. Manchester United did not CREATE your so-called 'plastic fans'. They were just successful. Very successful. And what happens when a high-profile club enjoys periods of great success? They attract fans from outside their traditional geographical fanbase. I remember having a Chelsea shirt around the time of the '70 Cup Final and stopping my kids joining their mates and getting Man Utd or Liverpool shirts was tough, to say the least. You accused someone else on this thread of naivety - staggering hypocrisy on your part. I doubt you'd even get through the doors of Cloud Cuckoo Land, so bizarre is your way of thinking.
