Barnsley fell to a 1-0 defeat against Blackpool in Sky Bet League One on Saturday. Jordan Rhodes’ penalty midway through the first half was all that separated the two sides on a disappointing afternoon at Oakwell. Goal scoring opportunities were few and far between in what was a laboured opening period, with Devante Cole seeing an early chance from close range blocked following neat build-up play from John McAtee. Aside from that, we struggled to get into an attacking rhythm and found ourselves behind when Rhodes converted from the spot after the ever-lively CJ Hamilton had been scythed down in the box by Corey O’Keeffe. Sounds like the majority of our home games this season also tbh.
I was there. Blackpool scored and sat back for the rest of the game. Hardly ran us ragged. it’s one thing looking for ways to find fault, but let’s not be making stuff up. It just gets silly.
It’s still 1 of our many poor home performances resulting in zero points. No matter how you try to dress it up.
It's a wonder if we'll get any home fans next week given how many are proclaiming they don't go / won't come back. Me? I'm a better fan. Yep. Better fan.
They really didn't. We weren't amazing by any means but on another day we'd have beaten them comfortably with the chances we created.
