I always thought he was pretty good at trying to find space. Glass half full and all that. And I agree. I think us finding this 3-5-2 system hasn't helped his case along with the patience we're showing Lazarus. Not sad to see him go, just saying it could've been different with a bit more luck.
Think injury and unsettling influence of transfer talk did for him with us last season. Fresh start for the best imho.
He got plenty of goals towards the back end of the season before last. Was pretty much our only player that was playing well. He'd do well at Rotherham.
Where the f.ck have I said that? I've said he was ok, could've been a good player for us, gave reasons why I thought so but injuries at the wrong time didn't help him. I've said I wasn't sad to see him go. How's that me not admitting something? You're more obsessed than I am.
I don't think he's anywhere near consistent enough to be called a good player at Championship level. I've seen him have a few good games, but the majority of the time he was completely anonymous. It's not that he was terrible, he just wasn't in the game either offensively or defensively. He'd offer no cover at the back and he'd constantly drift infield going forward so his colleagues never knew where to find him. A midfield player would pick up the ball in the centre of the pitch, look out to the wing for Done, but he wasn't there! Much of the time when Done was in the side it was like we started the game with ten men. I wish him well, I hope he has a good career, but I'm pleased we released him so we can take a punt on someone else.
Board wanted the money. Hill wanted him to stay as O'Brien had done his shoulder in. At least that's what we were told
I think League 1 will probably suit him. I wish him all the best, just don;t think he's quite good enough for the Championship & I think Flitcroft knew that & that's why he loaned him out rather than rebuild him like he did with the likes of Dagnall, Etuhu & Wiseman
