    RE: What about Adam Hammill?

Last season we had Hammill, Anderson, Colace, JCR and Teymourian playing in midfield. With the exception of Teymourian ALL these players have been raved about by Barnsley fans but we still looked absolutely fecking dire in the vast majority of games that they played in.

The thing that worries me is that even if we do bring Hammill or Adam in, Simple will still fail to get the best out of them or worse still do what he did to JCR last season.

Like I said I hope i'm wrong but.......

There will be quite a lot of other clubs keeping an eye on Hammil. And i don't feel we can compete with alot of this divison in the transfer market

    Hee hee

Not getting the monk on at that :D

What I don't understand is why most people think that Davey is not doing anything. For example, why do you think we have only made a derisory offer for Hammill? We might have made Liverpool and the player really good offers - we just don't know.

When we had Anderson da Silva on loan, most people on here were drooling over him and dreaming of a time when we could have players like that with us permanently. Next thing we know, we signed him. Most people on here were amazed we got him. If it happened then, why do people think it can't happen now?

    Well

it's probably because i don't like Davey. Fair enough, we're standing still with him as manager while most clubs like us are moving forward.

    If i offered you £250 000 i bet you'd think about it :)

No i'd say James has it pretty much spot on where did we finish in the League?

I didn't say we played well, but I don't think we were "absolutely fecking dire in the vast majority of games".

Simon Davey is the manager so obviously he is responsible for how we play.

Any yes you are right, the league table doesn't lie.

That's the best comment in this whole thread. People moaning about a newspaper rumour. Lets just wait and see.

    Some

Not all. Some of them weren't that bad, that's all I'm saying. Others were no way good enough, like the ones in your list.

Not sure I agree that ADS "gets slated on here by most". Some slate him, most I think admire him.

RE: "absolutely fecking dire in the vast majority of games"

Come on Stahlrost the Swansea home game was one of the worst performances in years (especially considering it's importance) and the Forest game wasn't much better.

With all the loan signings and the supposedly excellent midfield we still only managed to win one of our last nine games - how is that anything but absolutely fecking dire?

But it says in the Mirror they're in talks over taking him to Deepdale on a free transfer. I thought we'd offered 600k??? Or am i thinking of someone else?

    Swansea was dire

And Forest was too, you are right. But for me, it wasn't the "vast majority", that's all I'm trying to say.

As I have said the league table doesn't lie. But that was last season, I am looking forward to the new one. I can't comment on how well or how badly I think we will do because I don't know what the squad is going to be yet.

    I like him too

I would like him even more if he had an attacking midfielder next to him, for example, like Brian H.................................

Same person. That's why nobody should be so worked up before a so called rumour as happened.

Yeah my thought's exactly, he's still got 2 years left on his contract i believe so i don't think they'd terminate his contract with immediate effect if were ready to pay 600k for his services, unless they want rid of him and his wages that bad? Don't see there beeing much in this to be honest.
