For me, he is a better than average League 1 keeper at a better than average League 1 club. So, at present, a good fit for us.
If he had better command of his box and was more vocal, then we'd be worrying he was better than us and dread losing him every transfer window.
I do wish they'd take the captaincy off him though. He's in the most scrutinised position as it is, without the added pressure of being captain.

I think he represents most of our team in that he’s good league one / poor championship standard. He’s still fairly young for a keeper so the hope is that he keeps improving

What folk forget is a keeper is only as good as the four in front of him.

Before you even look at the centre halves...

    Fryers
    Elder.

Might as well play with ten before giving them a shirt...

I think Davies epitomises most of this current squad in its current life cycle. Nice guy, likeable and honest but struggles under pressure and when things get tough, better than average for most of the time with a few flaws to his game.

I'm in the 6-7 range as well. He's certainly more solid this season, but you'd expect that falling down a league. If we went back up, I'd hope we could attract someone more commanding and vocal. if we didn't go up, I'd be content to have him here another season.

He was poor around Chrimbo time last year and should have been rested earlier than he was. This season he is doing okay, but I am still not at ease when he is anywhere near the ball. Corners he is just stood on line doesn`t try to break away from his markers to get to the ball, he seems to prefer to punch and flap rather than catch however he does seem to play sweeper keeper more confidently this season.

    And yet you still haven’t...

Name me a better all round goalkeeper in league one or two, and ten or fifteen better in the championship.

Or, name me one mistake which has led to a goal this season that he has made.

He was poor at times last season. Who wasn’t? He was playing behind a woeful defence and when he needed a rest there was no viable option and so was picked continually, making the situation worse and worse. Little of that was his fault, everyone has dips in form. Had we a more useable backup than Jack Walton, who ended up playing eventually anyway, Davies could have been rested for a couple of weeks way before and would have come back all the stronger.

Like he has this season - playing for a side which has conceded less goals than anyone else in the league. Yes that’s only in part due to him - but he’s hardly dragging us down. There would be a lot of takers if he were available, there’s worse than him playing in the championship week in week out. One of them is top of that league.

Solskjaer has won his first four games as Man Utd manger. The first person to do so since Matt Busby in 1946. This stat proves he is a better manager than Alex Ferguson.
