I know, Stephen, I know You just can't get the staff these days!! I put it down to old age and insanity on my part!! (doh)
Would love to see him stay. I've have heard rumours that he'd like to stay on a season long loan although haven't a number of premiership clubs expressed an interest in him? Wolves and Bolton I think are two of them although I'm not sure if that's on a loan or permanent basis.
One thing I do know about Adam Hammill ... is that if folks here believe he is out of our reach, then we are stuffed. He is exactly what we should be going for & we as a club should stop selling ourselves short. Yes, he wants to play for Liverpool but he has already indicated himself that he loves it here. Fans have taken to him. If the club doesn't show ambition no-one will come. He is within our reach - we need to put it to him & Liverpool NOW, before he goes off on his holidays (Liverpool season not over so it would be a good time to do it). He can still play for Liverpool, but a 6 month loan/ season loan could work for both clubs.
Suppose it'll depend if the new gaffer will want him... (Yep, i know, he hasn't been sacked yet, but god i hope some sort of mutual agreement can be met and Mr Davey leaves the club)
Agreed....i mean a few years ago...half of what we signed were of his standard....why shouldnt it be the case now...
Apparently theres a young winger in the academy at liverpool call Amoo, who is very highly rated at the club so Hamill may be allowed out on loan
David Amoo. They got him from Millwall (I think). They have got a few young uns coming through. Nemeth, Duran, El Zhar, Plessis, Spearing. And that Hungarian kid they got on loan to buy this summer, Poleski (?). That is the competition that Hammill faces to get anywhere near the squad.
no one thought we'd get Anderson, look what happened. i say go for it! especially as we may potentially lose JCR
Said after Wolves game if he goes on loan wants to return to us, but his ideal chance next season is with Liverpool but we come 2nd!! watch the bigger clubs come for him though
Found this a few weeks ago http://www.setanta.com/uk/Articles/Football/2009/03/31/Championship-Hammill-on-future/gnid-46574/
Good call, we need to show some ambition. It was a similar situation with da Silva last year, we thought he was out of our reach, but we signed him. I know Hammill is younger but surely he is looking for first team football too. As you say I hope they are working on it like crazy now to set up a long term loan before someone else gets him.
