On the flip side I'd rather it he was going he went sooner rather than later. It's man hours more than anything. It's disheartening for everyone going through pre-season working on a system of play where Phillips might or might not be integral. Only to see him leave on deadline day without an adequate replacement. We've got to be careful next season. Hourihane will be first name on team sheet. If we're playing the same system as last season your midfield would be Phillips, Connell, Hourihane. That said we have Styles. He hasn't pulled up any trees out on loan. He wants out but might have to play if we sell Phillips. It's all ifs and speculation but if true it wants sorting quickly.
Click bait in my view. Anyone can “approach a club” about anyone! We’re talking here as though we’ll just say “ok” - I think we might well say get stuffed
Not much faith in the recruitment team to replace him, so it would be a massive NO from me. They obviously can't turn down that kind of offer tho so if they stump up the cash, he'll be gone.
I seem to remember a Preston fan posting on here that they had a rich owner, but weren’t going down that route. Must have taken a wrong turn
Not sure we’re in a position to not have to sell. How much did the owners have to put in last season? We’ve just trimmed our squad and saved on wages, but it’s a poor substitute for bringing in a few million in fees on top.
They turned down pretty substantial bids for him all summer until Coventry made an offer that they would have been nuts to refuse. Didn't look like anyone at the club wanted him to go to me.
