What stories do you hear about the Flitcroft era?

All I've heard is a big fall out with the academy people.

I blame him for everything. It's my opinion he was totally at fault for not marking Vardy last night.

Two lines of thought that always appear at this time of the season which I cannot understand.

    1) Accept relegation as a given and prepare for next season.
    2) I'm pleased that we're getting relegated as we should win some games next year.

Things are looking grim at the moment but the fact remains, we still have a chance of survival. If last seasons' heroics weren't proof enough, how about taking into account the fact that Charlton, Yeovil, Millwall are in equally as dire straits as us. Plus Blackpool's win last night was their first in 10 games, let's not be too hasty in counting them out of it.
Naïve optimism aside......my point is that next season (should we be relegated) we will be desperate to achieve promotion and go through this all over again. How about we dig in, scrap, fight, win ugly, utilise loanees if necessary and stay in the division as opposed to folding and choosing the 46 game long route of getting back there. I'm not saying that contingency plans shouldn't be put in place but this should be done by Mansford et al behind the scenes and shouldn't filter through to the playing staff. Plus, why should Danny accept defeat and blood all the youngsters when he's not guaranteed of a job next season?

Re. point 2, I refer folk to our seasons in League 1. I've managed to block most (barring the Millennium) out of my mind. Despite what people say on here, we're a second tier club and are here on merit. It's bloody hard to compete as this level but when has it not been?

How is the club supposed to recruit and keep young supporters (i.e. the long-term lifeblood of the club) if fed on a diet of constant struggle and failure? As I've said previously, the hook for me was the 1967/68 promotion season and the development of my first heroes (Eric Winstanley and Barrie Thomas). From the Fourth Division. Name me any player over the seasons since we returned to the Championship that you would attach 'hero status' to. There is life below Premier League Division 2.

I honsely beleive the bottom six as it stands are all in the mix

given the games in hand some of us have , I reckon the bottom six are all in the mire.

I started watching in 1990. So apart from narrowly missing out on the play offs when to be fair, I was too young to really appreciate it, my formative years of being a red fans (i.e. the next 6 seasons) were of mid table mediocrity and relegation threat. There were no heroes for me to cling on to. My favourite players were David Currie and Brendan O'Connell....

I take your point, fans like to see us win. However, the higher standard of opposition and bumper away crowds was as much a draw as our own mediocre players when I was young. As was visiting big, historic stadia. You don't get much of that in League 1.

You're right, there is life below the Championship. But it's not as good.

If we're in this league next season I've done with away games, and once I start getting used to a few pints in local and a fist full of betting slips of a Saturday I think home games might follow suite

If we go down i well do every game again

I'm just sick of the struggle,
