But it was his Dad and that.

Good point though, another irrelevant point is that while I was watching the film, I wasn't surrounded by Americans and was never offered a dustbin full of popcorn, a 12 foot long hotdog, a beer or the chance to throw the baseball to the pitcher. What's the world coming to?

still, the club is not proactive enough

and a long term plan is required to improve matters.

What have the club done to re-engage former ST holders (whose details they ought to posses)?

What do the club do in say Wakefield / pontefract to promote the club? Do they engage in any active marketting anywhere?

Is this one of those 'better fan than you' threads?

    Can I have a go?

Err...I went to Wembley, me. Have that. And I only tut for 30 minutes a half rather than the full 45. And I went to an away game once.

    A proper bestest fan thread

Involves you picking a certain away game (say Luton )that not many Barnsley fans went to and then somehow making that particular game the benchmark for attendance of all true fans. What you're in fact doing is making sure everyone knows that you go to away games and that you are an arrogant patronising self aggrandising *****. Tee hee.

Me, I choose Shrewsbury away, 1987/88 season, when about 30 Barnsley fans were there including me. Anyone that didn't go to that game cannot really be described as a true fan.

David Moyes own goal winner? Steve Lowndes scored? Won 3-2?

If so I'm a proper fan as well, yay

Well, I was at the 3-2 win against Southampton along with the other 250 'proper' fans. Anybody that didn't go there is a bit lightweight and probably likes tennis or croquet or something.

I got it wrong - I went in the 1987/88 season (30.4.88) thanks Soccerbase. 1-1 with a Steve Lowndes equaliser - he liked Gay Meadow didn't he ?

We could choose Luton one freezing day in the early 90's 2-2, 5am start when the old supporters club used to play their supporters club prior to the game........

Well I once went to a game where both managers played rigid 2-6-3 formations and only three people were in attendance to watch it. Nailbiting stuff. 13-11 it finished, and it would have been higher it they hadn't had to use a walnut for the second half after someone trod on the match ball.

    Proper fan.

    Jon Macken,

when you say big name ,you mean he once went for a big transfer fee.

I admire your attempts to fire up the stay aways , but as you pointed out the fans wont turn out for run of the mill games no matter who we sign.

Looked very capable at one time and would have been genuinely pleased with the signing if it wasn't for the fact that the guy is slightly more susceptible to injury than Nardiello doing a bit of breakdancing amid a herd of stampeding rhino.

I went to Southampton away, me. I'm allowed an opinion. Proper fan.

    Kudos. Proper fan.

As far as I'm concerned, there's only you allowed an opinion on this forum. Doubt anyone else will match that.

I've got a fridge magnet that doesn't work and that's got the letter B on it, and some other stuff about ills?
