Hayes has been disappointing but he's not ****

When we signed him I was pleased, but he has generally failed to live up to expectations this season. He is only young and obviously has ability, he's not a donkey like Barry Conlon, but he has failed to deliver most of the time.

He hit a good patch of form about three or four months ago when he scored about 7 in 10 games and got about half of his assists as well. The rest of the season he has not done a lot.

Obviously it is a team game, and if the team is doing well and scoring goals it does not really matter who is putting the ball in the net. If the team is doing well and Hayes is contributing to the success then it doesn't really matter how many he scores.

However - the team is not doing well and is not scoring goals, so something needs to change. Dropping a striker who does not really look like scoring a goal would not be a bad move. Tommy Wright could be given a game on Saturday, or even Nathan Jarman.

what do you expect us to do pay a million for a new player, play nardiello for a full match so you can complain about his offsides. There's no options and at the minutye he's our best option to take and stick with. take it or leave it without hayes yesterday we would hardly have had a chance on goal,  no body spreading it wide whilst mids got forwards and nobody drawing in defenders tos top them gettin the bal back up and creating chances.</p>

everybody in this team is key. Take one away and theres nothing left to go on.</p>

Your point was that he doesn't score enough goals though so why does it matter which competition he gets them in? Also cup goals earn the club extra revenue and seeing as though his goals earnt us a win against Darlo, a reply and a win against Bradford and another reply against Walsall he must've earnt us a fair bit of extra revenue especially since we budgeted to go out in the first round of every competetion.

We can argue forever on this subject, and it's clear that the Windy's of this world are happy with Hayes as a striker, I would venture, a lack of knowledge about the game, and Hayes's stats make for a very poor argument, at any other club the lad would be a regular in the reserves, but for a lack of imagination in the transfer market, thats exactly where he would be.

 

He created all our best chances yesterday.

I dont expect us to have two guys who score 25 goals a season, but after watching Hayes play , if we had someone up front with him who could put away the chances he creates then we wouldn't be down in 7th but at the top of the league.</p>

You're the only person who has shown a lack of knowledge about the game though. You havn't made a single point to demonstrate otherwise all you've said is how many goals he's scored. You havn't said why he's crap or suggested why he hasn't scored enough goals. Please enlighten us...
