Scotland were marginally better which indicates that they played better than their average and we played worse. Of course we should be disappointed but it was a derby game where the form book is out of the window. And again without wanting to seem bitter or anything, it really is their cup final.
As I said last week I’m having a moment of quiet satisfaction. I’m more looking to forward to watching how Lineker, Shearer and co react to this performance and result. Not so cocky now I bet.
Scotland played well with pride and passion but more than that a desire to perform for their country and the shirt they wear... England.........ermmm
More embarrassing for me was the news that followed the match…. The massive England failed to beat little old Scotland. They should be beating teams like Scotland… etc. Pathetic. That and the ignorant sods booing the national anthems and the knee. I told you last week you would be getting something out of this game Ian, I hope you go on to qualify. The team can play well and are exciting to watch.
I know nothings ever a given, you only have to look at Barnsley last season for that but I don't think its arrogance for a team ranked 4th in the world to beat a team ranked 50th.
Loads of comments leading up to the match were condescending as well. Really pees me off. England are over-hyped prima donnas . Not enough credit given to Scotland, their game plan or the tactical superiority of the manager who has less resources at his disposal.
